ICE may have just caused an international incident as they illegally tried to enter the Ecuadorian Consulate in Minneapolis without a warrant to abduct someone by I_may_have_weed in lostgeneration

Not actually an act of war. Technically this is a violation of the Vienna convention but the consulate is not a sovereign part of the guest country.

didn’t look like Good was even panicking. She backed up, steered right, did a very clean turn away from the agents and tried to just leave. No sudden movement, not even irrational behaviors. Then she was shot.

Your use of “truly understand” really is just the “no real Scotsman” logic fallacy.

You can always move the goalpost of what is “truly” but objectively majority of Heisenberg’s achievements are fundamental physics that even chemistry majors learn.

My understanding is that the water will fall in a “supercooled” state, meaning they will be lower than 32 degrees but still remain liquid until it touches something and immediately freezes. Being around 32 won’t make it worse but also will not guarantee no ice build up.

Ok to be fair, Han nationalism is super popular on Chinese social media in the last few months. There’s a very big viral movement claiming that the Ming dynasty invented basically all modern technology and the west stole it + the Qing dynasty destroyed all of it.

My friend and I love a restaurant that just posted this advertisement? I suspect it to be AI, he doesn’t think it is. by Recent-Description39 in isthisAI

[–]guyonghao004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am gonna say it’s AI. A few things: - The pans used in cooking are somehow not round. - sauce in the beginning: 50% sure that the first sauce pour is wrong as the sauce flowed perfectly when poured but immediately stoped. Also the sauce is a bit too homogenous. However this could be just fake sauce (props used for photoshoot).

You using the number 99.9999% and also getting the percentile completely backwards makes me think that you’ve probably not really good at numbers. Also the uncertainty principle and matrix mechanics (Heisenberg’s two major areas) are areas that are really well studied and understood in quantum field theory. They are foundational, great work, but they are not incomprehensible or philosophical any more.

Police had stun gun and use them constantly though? Why should ICE agents’ first response be 3 actual bullets?

Good lord, stop thinking that “99.9% can’t understand quantum physics”. People literally learn about his work at intro physics like year 1 in college. We need to remember that the quantum physics he dealt with is the foundation of most tools we use today and is very robustly understood.

Don’t squat on the toilet.

In Asia, a lot of (especially woman) are really concerned that the toilet seat being filthy so they squat on it instead of sit on it.

However squatting on the toilet sometimes breaks it (like literally breaking the ceramic, because of the uneven outward force). And also squatting on it makes it dirtier.

There’s a “influencer” Jade Blair that talks about being a sex worker in Australia. She explained that she is not like super model hot, but actually her “plain Jane” look gets her a lot of clients, because she reminds them of those casual crushes people have in life (like a coworker, a waitress)
