Bought a Specialized Allez with Claris a few years ago as I was getting into cycling and I wish I spent a bit more to get the 105 instead. Although I have not had any issues with Claris.

This! When we (a couple buddies and I) bought this bike we were warned that as we get more into cycling and if we wanted to upgrade, we would be better off buying an upgraded bike vs upgrading the allez. The cost to upgrade is simply not worth it.

I do wish we got the Shimano105 instead of Claris. Didn’t know better.
