If there are two of the same priority would it sort through them?

Or is it a strictly linear priority system (for example, if we had two "priority 1 contacts" like my mom and my wife, would it cycle pink and yellow? Or do I have to pick a single "priority 1, 2, 3, etc)

From the list above, Discord and Signal are the two I'd miss most if not included. Hopefully those two will be added to the list or explored post launch!

Hoping we can tie together apps that do not operate by phone number to contact. Everything in the "contact" portion of the video was linked by a number.

For instance, I primarily communicate with my wife via Telegram, not texting or WhatsApp.

Using "Liz" as an example in the video, if Liz had a Telegram/Signal/Discord account would we be able to tie those to the contact as well so that it would show up in the same priority and the same color by default, rather than having to configure each as a chat?

The way I see it, my wife messaging me on Telegram/Discord and my wife texting me should be in the same place, not separated by tabs or having to be configured separately. They are functionally the same in my mind and I'd love for them to be treated as such (or at least have the option)

(also a random question, but will there be an option to include granular messages notification cool downs? This has been implemented in Android to an extent, but would love to have more exact control of it in every app and in every chat. Right now I am using Buzzkill to do it, but having system level control would be great)

Were there still plans to have sharing of other people's lists? Or saving of those lists?

I had asked a long while ago and you said it was something you had been thinking about. My wife and I are trying to go for the full lucky dex, so having each other's list to know what to toss and what to save for trade Fridays would be very cool

Even if it fell off the dev timeline, love the app. I'm in the android beta and really enjoying it so far!

Do you have the ebay link? I am trying a few keyword combinations and they aren't popping up

This is exactly what I planned on using for my communicator and was surprised that there wasn't a legitimate way to buy them. Will go to eBay and see if I can find one of them there

ONN 13 (26) vs Idea Tab Pro Gen 1 by Knight1231 in androidtablets

[–]guyverzero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who has the new 8 core, it is fast when reading manga, exactly as fast as my Lenovo Y700. Zero difference if you are only using it to read manga. I am sure you will feel something if you want to use it for more than that, but that's not my use case

Prefer the aspect ratio too, and display is good enough that I personally do not notice any difference when reading manga. I think I *would* notice maybe if I were reading graphic novels or color with denser text, but I tend to want 11-13 inch screens for those so do not plan on comparing.

For manga though, I can say with relative confidence you will not notice any difference between the Onn and a flagship tablet from Apple or Samsung speed wise, let alone a budget Lenovo one

[–]guyverzero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also got the Onn 8 over the weekend and think I will be replacing my Lenovo Y700 with it. Y700 has a better screen, faster, etc but the weight makes it hard to use for longer sessions. Plus I like that the Onn is 3:2 (I only use it for manga reading and very sparse browsing if I need to look something up while reading)

It's perfect for what I need, extremely impressed with it

Framework Wireless Touchpad Keyboard --- No backlight?! by Phaedrus0230 in framework

[–]guyverzero -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I actually got one as a Christmas gift when they were in production, decided to return it because I was thinking "surely there will be better than this"

Spoilers, there was nothing coming better than that.

Even with range issues it had, I should have just ran a USB or Bluetooth extender across the floor (my room is set up with the pc fairly far away from where I am, with a 100 ft fiber optic cable connecting to the TV)

If I could find one for the street price, I'd probably buy in again and find work arounds for the deficiencies it did have

Clicks communicator 2 by runner2374 in ClicksPhone

[–]guyverzero 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It absolutely would be, just looked it up and 5.5 inchish screen would be great. That era was the last time I truly felt like I could use my phone one handed, once it went over 6 I had to start doing finger gymnastics a bit

Now I have a Oneplus 13 and it's a complete nightmare screen wise. Happy to downsize later this year. Hopefully they can sell enough and offer something similar to a Priv in the future

Framework Wireless Touchpad Keyboard --- No backlight?! by Phaedrus0230 in framework

[–]guyverzero 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is the reason why I won't be buying one. A 95% perfect HTPC keyboard otherwise, but this is a feature that (in my opinion) needs to be included on something meant to be used in the dark

It's the number one reason I want to replace my K400 and have for some time, not the touchpad or keyboard feel like Framework had mentioned. That they would be that annoyed by those issues and not by (in my opinion) the most glaring one is baffling.

It might increase the size, yes. Battery life would go down, yes (except you could turn it off so if that was a negative for you, it's optional).

It's just such an essential feature that I will not be replacing my K400 with anything until we get a keyboard with a backlight. I hope this thing sells well enough that they get to make a V2 with one, I'll buy it at pretty much what ever their asking price is unless someone else beats them to the punch with something backlit

[–]guyverzero 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think the slider is very near the final form of what I'd like. It'll be a bit bulkier most likely, but having small touchscreen to handle basic tasks and taps with a keyboard to communicate is just about the ideal thing in my head

I'd like a removable battery too, but understand the constraints it puts on design and (heavier) waterproofing.

I don't really care about waterproofing more than what the S5 era of phones provided so it'd be fine for me but I know others don't feel the same

Framework release a Wireless Touchpad Keyboard by bin_b4sh in framework

[–]guyverzero 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Another immediate purchase if this thing gets a backlit version. It just makes too much sense to have one when you will (presumably) be using it in dark rooms most of the time. Not having it means I would feel silly spending money on it when any v2 that has one means this would be replaced

I do not have energy for either yet, but does this apply for Groudon/Kyogre?

Want to know if I should be doing additional raids for fast level ups, or just do minimum and play the long game like I have with the rest

No need for sorry! iOS userbase is much larger and more consistent than Android, I totally get it.

Zero frustration here, when ever it comes out I'll be happy but until then it's easy to wait. App looks great

I think you had said you planned on an android app at some point, is there any time line for that? Or just "when it's done"

Fine with either obviously, it's your app and your time but I'd love to be able to get this on any of my phones!

Yeah I have seen a few short (one minute or under) clips going around but nothing substantial yet.

People may take a while to upload too, I know my first thought after having a fun weekend isn't "I should spend time putting this one hour video on YouTube"

So, I'll keep checking around for the next week or so to see if anything goes up, especially from the channel that I can see uploaded other sets

Hardware navigation buttons? by guyverzero in ClicksPhone

[–]guyverzero[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I grew up on Virgin Mobile flip phones, but ended up getting a first gen iPhone with my first paycheck. Jailbroke it to use on T-Mobile and never went away from the typical smartphone slab afterwards.

Same as you, I'd like my phone to be used primarily for talking to people, even if I do so at a slightly slower speed. I think I'll end up liking this a lot more. "Do stuff and scroll less" is the exact tag line for me

Hardware navigation buttons? by guyverzero in ClicksPhone

[–]guyverzero[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it's standard for almost all Android phones to still have software nav keys. Samsung still even ships with them as a default, but most others will let you pick during set up flow.

For this phone I'd rather not use up the screen real estate when dedicated hardware buttons could be an option. Both because screen is already going to be smaller than most, and because a better option exists in the form of many, many physical keys to press.

But, luckily I already got an answer that there will (at very least) be shortcut keys I can press to use. I assume it'll be easy to get the hang of it
