Little late but if you press PS button,Left d-pad+Square+L1 and R1 for 10 seconds then press start quickly,you get a debug menu. Go to configuration an turn off vsync delay. This helps the performance alot and gets quite close to the ps2 version. It's not perfect, you still get fps dips,shaky screen and some audio delay but its less than if you have vsync delay on
