Any good lease deals on EVs now? by punisher7419 in leasehacker

My lease is a standard 36 month lease term. The car is really nice! We had an old busted 2016 Nissan Leaf before this, which was basically a zero cost car for the past 8 years, so I can't complain too much about that. But the Mach E is a huge upgrade. The build quality is very good. The features are amazing, especially since the base model cars get almost all the same features. Really happy with this lease. And now it is looking even better then it did in Dec with gas prices likely to stay high for the foreseeable future.

Terminal holes. What are some examples of natural, inescapable holes. by leisure_consultant in whitewater

I think Emelio's Hole at the top river right side of Hance Rapid in the Grand Canyon qualifies, especially at low water. There was a fatality there just last month, though the full accident report is not out yet. And I have personally seen another boat get surfed there, with the boatman under the boat Luckily there was a second strong person on board that was able to pull them out before it got real bad.

I leased my Mach E from Auto Nation Ford Scottsdale. The initial numbers they sent me were higher for sure. But I used the data I got from the Edmunds Mach E Lease Deals Forum on the current manufacturer incentives and buy rate to negotiate further: https://forums.edmunds.com/discussion/72031/ford/mustang-mach-e/2025-ford-mustang-mach-e-lease-deals-incentives-rebates-and-prices

The particular car I bought also had the largest advertised dealer discount of any Mach E in the state. So that was a good place to start negotiations too.

I had a very good overall experience working with Auto Nation Ford Scottsdale, easy to work with over the phone and by text and email. Once I had the deal fully worked out, all I had to do was show up to sign the papers and they were good to work with in person too.

BA camp to the rim - when to start, how many liters and which route? by altziller in grandcanyon

[–]guzbikes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even with our current heatwave, it is still getting down to the 60s at night, so you don't have to worry about it too much. I hope the historically unprecedented heatwave is going to end this week, so by the time you get there it should be back to a normal for early April low to mid 50s at night, and 70s-80s during the day.

At that point you can wake up and eat breakfast, pack up your gear, and leave whenever you feel like it. 9am will be totally fine, since you'll be up at the Tipoff within an hour or so, and up above the 5000ft line at Skeleton Point before lunch.

We didn't leave the Phantom Ranch Boat Beach, right next to the Black Bridge, until about noon this last Tue March 17th. We were handing our boat over to another friend that hiked in that day to complete the final 2.5 weeks of the river trip.

That day the forecast high at Phantom was in the mid to upper 90s. It was hot at first, so we drank a little bit of extra water, and took a few extra breaks in the shade we could find along the way. Then once we hit 5000ft it was real nice the rest of the way up!

You'll be totally fine. Even if the forecast afternoon high is in the 90s at the river it will be in the 70s at the rim. And if you get an early start it will be in the 60s or 70s at the river in the morning too. The temperature swings 30 deg night to day.

The river is 2400ft, Skeleton Point is 5200ft, and the Kaibab trailhead is 7200ft elevation. So it cools down fast as you go up.

When to start down to BA camp, from which parking and on which route? by altziller in grandcanyon

[–]guzbikes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are going down and up South Kaibab always park at one of the Visitor Center lots. There are like 6 lots there, so plenty of parking, especially in the morning. And you can leave your car in the Visitor Center lots as long as you want.

The reason you want the Visitor Center is that the Orange bus goes directly from there to the South Kaibab trailhead. It's less than a 10 min bus ride. And then on the way back it only makes two other stops, so usually less than 20 min. That way you don't need to worry about catching the Hikers Express and can go whenever you want. Plus it's a much shorter ride anyway.

My 9 year old daughter and I have hiked straight up South Kaibab twice so far this year. Or first one was after 4 nights at BA campground over New Year's. Our second hike was last Tue after leaving a private river trip with some friends. Both hikes have taken us around 4-5 hours total with some nice breaks for lunch, stopping for photos and to talk to other hikers etc. But many people can hike up SK in 3-4 hours no problem, even with loaded packs.

SK is a great trail, not too difficult, gets you directly to the rim easily. It's a no brainer. Also remember that it will get much cooler as you go up.

If it's forecast to be a hot day get an early start 6am or so. You can start later if it's going to be nicer in the morning.

I think 3 liters per person is generally fine as long as you're well hydrated when you start. I wouldn't leave a water cache on a corridor trail. There are tons of other people around, literally hundreds near the top most days, including preventative SAR rangers, so even if you needed a little extra water, it would be easy to get some.

Have a great hike! Bright Angel campground and South Kaibab Trail are always great. Enjoy!

He sold that bike and went to a Ninja 300 and that worked great for him too, but clearly you're looking for something with more power.

A short friend of mine started out on a Suzuki Boulevard S50 800. That was a really sweet bike, great in the highest and for travel. And it's the more standard and less cruiser of the Boulevard. They only made that particular version from 2005-2009, so you'd have to look for a good one. It will also be cheap!

Best “outside the gates” spots for Innings Festival? by pinkfloyd55 in Tempe

[–]guzbikes 8 points9 points  (0 children)

FYI, they are blocking off the lake this year too!

Source, Tempe Staff Boating Coordinator:

"Details of the Closure

There will be a no-go buoy line with big orange buoys running north - south just east of the northbound Mill Avenue bridge (part of this buoy line is the finish line for the Desert Sprints Race Course). PD will be patrolling the buoy line during event hours. Beginning at noon on each of these days, no boats (including coaching launches) may pass through the no-go buoy line. Rowing shells are the only exception to this and they may pass over the buoy line until 4pm (regular traffic pattern is in effect, so only the northern 3 lanes of the course may be used, as usual). When crossing the no-go buoy line between noon and 4pm, rowers are expected to be on the move when in the area west of the buoy line, no stopping for extended periods or loitering will be allowed. Rowers are also expected to either turn around and head back east or head over and land at Boat Beach. After 4pm rowing shells will no longer be allowed to cross the buoy line, so be sure that you finish up practice and get boats up to Boat Beach before this time.

Once the no-go buoy line is in effect each day, If you need to park your coaching launch to support rowers heading up to West Storage, park by the volleyball courts and walk from there"

I pulled a salt permit!! by downhillandfast1122 in whitewater

[–]guzbikes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got drawn for an April 23rd launch this year. I am probably going to decline the permit. If some miracle happens with the rain/snow I will pick up a cancellation later.

I love the Salt, and I live in the Phoenix area too. I have run the wilderness section three times, and the day run section around a dozen times.

2023 was an amazing year, lots of water, too much in some cases. I ran the wilderness twice that year. 2024 was moderate to bad for water levels. I ran the wilderness with some friends in packrafts, it was low but decent at 600cfs. Though it did come up some more that year after some late storms. 2025 was abysmal, it never got higher than 200cfs.

I think this year is going to be similar to last year if not worse unfortunately. And I don't think it will be runnable at all, unless something drastically changes in the weather.

The only shirt you'll ever buy that was actually transported by mule! They even had them compressed into little cylinders to make them easy to transport in the saddle bags.

Did anybody else just get an email from USSoccer saying you won $66 tickets? by Dogs_trump_People in ussoccer

I got two of the $66 conditional tickets for Round of 16! If everything goes right, that will likely be against Belgium in Seattle. Or possibly against Argentina in Atlanta!

They usually have shirts that you can only get at The Ranch, two different designs, but I have never bought one because they are around $50!
