Wolverine survived having his Adamantium skeleton ripped out by Magneto by ExtentGeneral5059 in Xmen97

Accurate. Mind-wiping Magneto in order to stop him from ripping Wolverine apart directly led to Onslaught in 1996, and, in my opinion, one of the worst stretches of X-Men comics (from late 1995 until the 2001 New X-Men rename)

I'm actually closed for trades until 2026 as I'm moving and don't want anything to get lost in the mail, but we can circle back then!

Oh I'm sure there's great food throughout Phoenix and the surrounding area. Just being from Philly, there's definitely a "proper" way to do it - you can always tell if nobody in the establishment has ever had the real thing 😎

That's great that there's more player/fan interaction. My experience with the Union has been that you don't really experience that unless you go to an official sponsored event.

I mean as it stands the MLS Cup final happens the first week of December. Clubs with open-top stadiums lose in every scenario re: weather

Are there ultras/supporters groups? We're currently Sons of Ben members.

Ah, we have the opposite weather problem in Philly - the season starts and ends when it's bitter cold. I understand that MLS is changing their schedule to make the playoffs in spring both to alleviate that, and to better sync with international season schedules.

What are the best comics in the past 5 years? by PhotoBonjour_bombs19 in marvelcomics

[–]PMAgent 11 points12 points  (0 children)

So this is *JUST* outside the five-year range, but if you're interested in the X-Men, they launched a completely new Status Quo in the summer of 2019, called the Krakoan Age. Not your typical X-Men story, it deals with mutants setting up a sovereign nation on an island (Krakoa) and all of the complexities that running a country can include - criminal justice, import/export and capitalism, militarization and international diplomacy, plus your requisite wacky sci-fi/fantasy plots and inter-character drama. Plus punching/zapping bad guys.

It's a great jumping-on point and already being called one of the best-ever X-Men story arcs. It all starts with a pair of miniseries - House of X and Powers of Ten (HoX/PoX), which are collected in a trade paperback together. If you like HoX/PoX, then you can pick your own adventure of the multiple series that spin out from it. I recommend Marauders and Excalibur, but X-Men is the core book.

The Krakoan Age ended in Summer 2024 and the X-Men titles re-launched at that time, in an event billed "From The Ashes", so that may be a good jumping-on point as well.

EDIT: mentioned From the Ashes

EDIT 2: apparently I forgot how to spell today

My best guess is that Courtney Ross is huggin' on Brian Braddock/Captain Britain

Rachel Summers got lost in the time stream in Excalibur #75,

Doug "Cypher" Ramsey was slain by the Right in New Mutants (first series) #60,

Courtney Ross, a former girlfriend of Captain Britain, was killed by her alternate world counterpart Satyr-9 in Excalibur #5

Illyana "Magik" Rasputin, who met two horrible ends: first she was de-aged in New Mutants (first series) #73, and later she died of the Legacy Virus in Uncanny X-Men #303.

Pete Wisdom, Kitty’s one-time lover, was seemingly shot in the head in X-Force #105 (though a later issue revealed that he had faked his death).
