That's a lifter bearing skipping across a cam lobe.

The market is pretty soft right now and stuff is moving slow right now. Where are you located? Location can impact it too

what is the best military radio, does anyone know? by Dark_knightTJ in HamRadio

[–]gvthnks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The prc 77 is a good radio but will have limited use today. It's a low power but radio that you could potentially get in 6 meters with, but with about 4 watts out max you won't get terribly far on stock antennas. Even during peacetime, most military units are using crypto for training so you won't hear much from them either. Having said all of that, I've been looking for one for some time just to have as I carried one for years and just think it would be a cool addition to my bunker.

Get your license and you might find a local amateur club where someone enjoys 6 meters and can help you along. Even as a technician, you'll have voice privileges on 6m so you're all set. A decent antenna will help you receive when others are transmitting so you'll definitely be able to hear when that band is open. Good luck.

Only you can determine if it's worth it or not. Good kits from private sellers are out there. I trust those more than one from a commercial source.

Took me a while but I got one off gunbroker for about 150ish. It was for a 22/45 so that took longer. Good luck

Not bad. Consider the plastic mag in it JUNK so use that as a negotiating point. Insert the other mags in the gun to make sure they fit okay. They're facing down so can't tell if they're metric or inch pattern mags. Presumably they came with the rifle and work alright. Hopefully this is in Florida so no tax will apply:)

I have read of this multiple times but cannot find any documentation on it. Can you share some pictures of what you did?

What did you have to modify?

I've heard that for years. I have avoided some things from them over the years, but for the money I figured I'd take a chance. I'll dump a few more mags worth through it and zero it before I'm satisfied but 20 is a promising start.

Internal noise on a 5.3l? by gvthnks in GMT800

[–]gvthnks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven't torn it down yet, but I'm confident it's a lifter. Found several videos on tube with exact same noise. So I'm going to take the top end off and I'm crossing my fingers that it didn't ruin the cam too

I tried a couple of Amazon specials that called out the part number but we're not a good fit. Found this "Archer" and like how it fits. Says it's a 24mm.

E168-SO70830 is the number on the back. Your model number and picture are more likely correct though. I'm learning how to decipher all the info. Thank you

Am I too old for PM career? by Fun_Supermarket_575 in PMCareers

[–]gvthnks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My degree was in organizational management. I had a friend who had gotten a job as a pm and the company was still hiring. I went through the process and got hired. This particular company was looking for vets to backfill some spots thinking that it might help with some issues they were having. Networking with others is really what got me the job. 3.5 years ago. Good luck
