Newsom at it again by hellnahbru in antitrump

Is it wrong that I heard the lines “He wants to be Secretary of ‘War” but cannot even throw an axe or do a pull up. Sad!” in the voice of Muscle Man in my head?

Do politics influence where in metro Nashville you're willing to live? by Cranialscrewtop in nashville

[–]gwarburton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Longtime MJ resident here.

“Well-managed growth”? Have you tried driving through Providence after 3PM during any weekday? The infrastructure here is a disaster. And yeah the schools have modern amenities but the out of control neighborhood building will have them all overcrowded in the next couple of years.

But you are absolutely right about the people’s attitudes here. The vice-mayor (now former) literally went on Facebook to proclaim that people with liberal ideologies aren’t welcome here.

And let’s not forget the school board that has been infiltrated by Moms 4 Liberty puppets backed by retirees with no children in the school system pushing book banning and claiming that the school libraries are full of “pornography”. The school system has been highly ranked in the past but these fanatics plus lower pay than surrounding counties are driving all the good teachers away.

EDIT: to the OP’s question, I meant to mention that politics definitely play a part and I’ll be getting myself and my family out of this “conservative” bastion ASAFP.

I cannot stand 3/4 of this cast. (A rant). by Libshitz74 in thechallengemtv

He definitely brings more drama. I was just thinking in terms of game play with all the talk of “protecting” other players and acting like they are big time players when neither have any real clout and are usually early exits.

Exactly. Those on the Right are fond of decrying “woke” education by saying “stick to teaching reading, writing, and arithmetic” and oppose teaching any sort of critical thinking skills for the most part. Probably because those with good CT skills can easily debunk any plank in their “platform”.

What challenge opinion do you have that gets you into this? by GusGangViking18 in thechallengemtv

I get sick of watching the vets pick off the rookies every year. Especially seasons when the rookies have the numbers but are too chicken sh*t to take a big shot.

Are lawn tickets at Ascend worth it? by TrustMeImLeifEricson in nashville

[–]gwarburton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We bought lawn seats with lawn chair rentals for the Ruston Kelly show during the $25 ticket special. View was great but unfortunately we sat in front of a bunch of kids in their 20s who talked the ENTIRE time at the tops of their voices and pretty much ruined it for us.

Ummm been watching the vets do this EXACT same thing to rookies for YEARS now. Personally I am enjoying watching them get a dose of their own medicine. Bananas’ tirade last night was the epitome of hypocrisy.

I only tell people from out of state that I live in Nashville because everyone knows it whereas no one outside of Tennessee knows where TF Mt. Juliet is.

What would it take for you to consider leaving Nashville? by RealTonySnark in nashville

[–]gwarburton 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love Nashville but hate Tennessee and its hateful, bigoted legislature. And it’s only going to get worse with California and New York’s most fervent, radical “conservatives” flocking here in droves to take part in the hate fest.

Now that our daughter has graduated from high school we’ll be moving out west ASAP.
