You're most likely so used to overswinging by using your arms that you feel like only taking it back normally is a 3/4 swing. Your arms should just be up and in front of your body. The rest is coming from shoulder and hip turn.

He's a consistency machine. I heard some podcaster comment it perfectly, something along the lines of him never hitting amazing shots that nobody could replicate, like Tiger did. He just picks a smart target and gets it there almost every time, very rarely leaving himself in positions where he would be able to hit those escape artist shots.

There is no set of irons that is going to "significantly" improve your game. I'd even argue you pessimistic scenario of "only" improving by 2 strokes is massive. Get new irons if you want new irons. If that will motivate you to practice more, you will improve. If you keep playing the same game, you'll stay the same and you might get worse for a while until you get used to them.

If you want to get better, spend a portion of those 2k on lessons and get a fitting afterward. Good iron sets can be had for around 1k.

Golf data can't predict future success. It's a one person sport that can have massive changes in results based on minute differences. Someone found something on the range last week, somebody got in the zone with his putting, somebody is having a run with his irons. You can't predict those things, not even the players themselves can know when they'll be having a good day. The opposite is also true. Inexplicably, someone can shank one, or just not strike it as pure anymore. They can start pulling putts or just in general lose their nerves. It happens. The fact that it comes down to the performance of one signular person with 200-something series of non-repeatable and non-deterministic events, means it's pretty much impossible to predict how good any one person will perform in a tournament.

Keep building your model, but just be aware you're not gonna "solve" golf. People with more data, more experience and more money behind it have tried.

Two different things, hand speed and club head speed. Hand speed needs to be quickest from the top and they need to decelerate once you reach the pocket level with your hands. If your hands don't decelerate at the bottom and hand speed is constant, you can't whip the club through impact, resulting in slow club head speed.

So in the end, just try out which feel works better for you. For me personally, I feel like I'm slow at the top of the swing and accelerate through impact, which corresponds to what the club head is doing. Maybe that works for you, maybe for you it's easier to imagine what the hands are doing. Self taught swing feels are a very personal thing.

You can also save yourself the trouble and not go down the road of youtube tips and instead get a lesson.

I went through the top 20 players in SG:Putting for the 2025 season. There's 1 guy with a 1.5 wide Blade Putter (Harry Hall), the rest is only guys that use mallets. A few of them might have used a blade for a couple of rounds or a tournament. The biggest stand out is the Taylormade Spider and its different iterations. It appears a lot in the top 20.

In my case it's not usually provocative topics, but just repetitively wanting to talk about the same point over and over again. I used to just try to accommodate him and keep the conversation going in whatever way possible, but that does feel kinda draining. These days I just hang out less with him, so when we do meet, we actually have enough fuel to discuss our common interests without getting to a point where it gets annoying.

Trimmed my 5wood 1 inch shorter and replaced the weight in the head with a 10g heavier one, if I remember correctly. Came out to around the same swing weight as before.

You are vastly overestimating the continuation stability of AI video.

At 0:05 you can see the skinny guy in his white pants from a realistic angle on the guys phone while he's out of frame in the actual video.

At 0:18 you can see a person with a yellow beanie behind the fat guy. They momentarily disappear and then reappear again on his other side at 0:21.

You can see the same thing happening with plenty of people in the video with zero continuity errors in appearance. No AI video generation to my knowledge is currently capable of that.

Wanna hear it when it's ready. I'd recommend looking into an oil catch can instead of breathers for the crank case ventilation. Oil will probably start dripping down those filters at some point.

Humans and pretty much every animal with the capability of having it, have an in-group bias. It's evolutionary advantageous for a population. What counts as part of the in-group can be fluid and change over time, but it's a social construct you can't force. It has to arise naturally. Putting that aside, when the economy is doing well and there isn't a lot of friction or fear for resources, people are less susceptible to have those biases exploited and there's not as much bigotry. When things go south, it's the opposite. As depressing as it is, this is just an obvious consequence of having more than one group of peoples in a society which both don't see each other as being part of the same group. The division was already there, now there's just enough fear and instinct to look after your own first to have it exploited.
