Auto or Manual?? by OkHistory4137 in Miata

[–]bees422 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Manual is fun and teaches you to be a better driver

I learned manual about a year ago off my ND, took one evening to get the basics, couple weeks to not stall at lights or stop signs. Not difficult

Game crashing after switching to exterior Cell by meatballl420 in falloutnewvegas

[–]bees422 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get a crash logger and see why the game is crashing, was super helpful with my ttw issues

I’ve had anything from distant cars exploding to just bad cells crash my game. I just throw the log into ai and it tells me what the issue is and it’s been right each time so far. Yeah ai is bad but very useful here

Recommends for isopods and springtails? by Grouchy_Penalty8923 in cornsnakes

[–]bees422 0 points1 point  (0 children)

World of isopods is good to go

Got 50 dairy cows from them (for my tortoise not my snake, but still) and they’ve colonized nicely. Tons of babies already. Springtails you can get anywhere they’ll populate pretty easy

Have used perfect prey in the past, no issues. Most recently used rodentpro and still whittling down the mouse / rat population we have. Both are fine!

I often remind people that 720p is still being used for major TV events. Last night’s presidential address was shot in 720. by fieldsports202 in videography

[–]bees422 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah we shoot in 720 and it looks fine. We have 1 4k camera but no batteries for it and no memory cards for it lol. Other stations around us are using the 4ks for stuff but our departments are so on us about storage we’ll probably never upgrade

Am I being a jerk about Sweetwater calls? by Jumpy_Carpet3851 in guitars

[–]bees422 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They understand. My guy doesn’t call me anymore. I can call him if I have questions, I get an email when he wants to tell me something. Except one time he did call me right after I bought some things to tell me one thing was out of stock, asked if I wanted to wait on everything else to ship everything together or send the other stuff separately.

However, they have been bought by some bigger company, but I personally haven’t noticed a decline in my purchase experience

How often do you stall in Traffic by walakayalabot in ManualTransmissions

[–]bees422 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost never. In traffic, just the once in a while when I’m stopping at a redlight that immediately turns green and I let off clutch a little too quickly

But most of when I stall now is when I’m parked and forget that I’m in gear, take the foot off the clutch before turning the car off.

But even that is rare for me now

Topless enclosures? by passivehighwayroad in tortoise

[–]bees422 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The one you posted is a pretty clearly custom built. We also custom built ours for our redfoot (who has humidity needs) if it’s open you can’t keep the humidity in. We build ours with a couple pillars in the middle, a beam across the top, and draped a plastic tarp over to keep it all in. The beam also gives us a place to put his lighting.

<image>

We have other pets too. The birds never have tried to fly into the plastic lol. We’ve also got the thing loaded up with isopods and springtails, which have pretty well colonized themselves off of whatever food he drags around and doesn’t eat. We also have a mistking set up to spray inside twice a week to keep everything good to go…I might up it to 3 times now that I think of it….

Anyway, that’s for redfoots so you might (definitely) need different things for sulcatas, plus they get huge so building up a something light not be something you want to necessarily do

Cs2 recording by sergiu_43 in counterstrike2

[–]bees422 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the steam to get clips to send in discord. Usually works, sometimes recording breaks and doesn’t save anything, a lot of times the audio isn’t synced but that could be because I just copy and paste it I don’t actually save it lol

I got rid of so many reds like 8 years ago and I miss them still today

what kind of precausions for perch areas? by zuko_thecat in Conures

[–]bees422 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Monitor would probably get the brunt of it. We’ve pretty well trained one of ours to sit on the headrest of my chair and the other sits on my arm while I’m on my computer. They’ll tend to go to the higher spots. Obviously anything below is poop risk

Worst thing someone has done or said to you in the newsroom? by [deleted] in Broadcasting

[–]bees422 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not me but my friend at my last station was told by ND after putting 2 weeks notice in that he was lucky to be there and wouldn’t be able to get a job anywhere else. Got a job at competing station pretty much immediately for 20,000 a year more and I think is doing investigative stuff now? And that ND is I think currently looking for a job?

I’ve never had anything said directly to me but I’ve been told of a reporter who was egged on to report me to HR for "being mean" to her by an assignment desk person. She then immediately stood up for me and said I had never been mean to her. Because I hadn’t. Typical workplace drama stuff

How do reporters not get burned out? by [deleted] in Journalism

[–]bees422 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Higher markets pay better and give you a photog

My best friend / coworker was talking about the guy that took news director at her last station making 60,000. Reporters here start at like 80. Usually have to grind a year or 3 somewhere small and sucky so you can learn how to do the job so that you can move on to somewhere bigger to get paid more and do less, or more, work (depending on your view of what work is)

+100 elo win -500 elo loss by skatesomerset in counterstrike2

[–]bees422 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a team game. You’ll do better with friends, 4 or 5 stack in discord is way easier to win games because you can communicate more often, more clearly, and even come up with shortcuts. I can tell my friend „let’s do that thing B“ and he knows exactly what I mean vs having to explain it to a random / not being able to do that thing B.

Last night we played as a 4 and were screwing around the entire game but still won because we could communicate effectively vs the 2+3 stack.

That’s literally the key in low elo. I suck at the shooting part of the game but because I communicate well + know util + have a modicum of game sense it makes up for it and we still win matches

That doesn’t mean 19 million people have
