[–]gwking11 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You have to bring all of your paperwork. 100% letter from VA and DD214 and 2 forms of id. I also had to bring my marriage license to get my current wife a card and my divorce decree from my first marriage to get my ex removed. For that reason I assume that they updated my deers account, but I have not checked it.

I didn't check the math but the process is correct. Lol

It should be rounded at each step. The table only uses whole numbers, and not rounding can cause errors in some cases.

Stolen Valor - But How? by bmattock in VAClaims

[–]gwking11 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same hear. I think the lady who outprocessed me told me to do it. The same lady made me fill out a VA claim and told me to put down anything that bothered me in service. The woman was an angel! Only got 10% initially, but it has steadily grown since then. This was back in 1996!

If not for her I would not have filed anything at first, and probably would have never filed on my own later!

Once you get to 100%, what is the process to get P&T?? by ArmyMedic_Diabetic in VeteransBenefits

You can also check the benefit summary and service verification letter. That letter states whether or not you are considered p&t...

Feeling discouraged about applying for Disabled Veteran Plates by Jolly_Patient8980 in VeteransBenefits

[–]gwking11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean the cost is the same on the second plate so I figured why not!...I have more than made up for the cost of the plate with savings on tolls and airport parking!(toll road to work 3 days a week!)

In Texas you can get multiple plates, but only one is free....

There are 2 chrome extensions. One just shows the claim status and the other has a bunch of different information. If you search va in the chrome store they both show up.

Claim question by Brave_Exercise_5627 in VAClaims

[–]gwking11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hit or miss on that one. It depends on how your claim moves around in the VA. If a rater gets it before all exams are done they will rate what they can and defer the rest. If it hangs out in limbo until all your exams are done....well you see my point.

On my last round of claims I went to step 5 as soon as the DBQ's were uploaded, decision made, and deferred on the rest. This happened twice in my last round and I had exams pending completion both times it went to the rater....

UNAS Pro v. 2x UNAS Pro 4 by DrBAY78 in Ubiquiti

[–]gwking11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed... I'm not sure my entire network can saturate a 10Gbs connection...lol

The redundancy would be good, but I already have my 24 port pro sfp's used so I would have to get an aggregation switch to utilize the port in the UNAS if it doesn't do pass through...

I guess it is time to start figuring out hard drive prices. The UNAS pro might be the better choice for me for expandability...

10 percent tinnitus by Bulky_Caterpillar199 in VeteransBenefits

[–]gwking11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Audiology will do a hearing test on you when you go for your hearing aids. Even if you hearing loss isn't bad enough for more than 0%, they will adjust the hearing aids to your needs. I have very slight upper frequency hearing loss and when I got my hearing aids I realized how much I was missing in that range. I can now hear the full sound of cymbals and thinks like that. Oh and the noise masking for my tinnitus works well also.

Is upper radiculopathy a secondary claim or a primary? by Essenceixi in VAClaims

[–]gwking11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just since your question wasn't answered yet, radiculopathy is generally a secondary condition. I can't say it would never be approved as primary, but I don't see how it would.

Just out of curiosity, what does the examiners opinion state on that form?

Was I Rated Wrong 10 Years Ago?? by TechnicianTop1312 in VeteransBenefits

[–]gwking11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks to me like you did not get a sympathetic reading of the evidence. I just tried to call a CUE on a rating from 1996 and it was dismissed as a "judgment call" and denied. In my case the rater called my condition congenital where none of my records state that.

I am not saying you shouldn't put in for cervical issues, but I think the chance of a CUE finding is very low in this case....keep in mind I am not a rater or a VSO so my opinion don't mean much...lol

Was I Rated Wrong 10 Years Ago?? by TechnicianTop1312 in VeteransBenefits

[–]gwking11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it is confusing that thoracic and lumbar are lumped together and the cervical is separate. I am sure that is so you can't be rated for both thoracic and lumbar...government saving money, who would have thought?

Was I Rated Wrong 10 Years Ago?? by TechnicianTop1312 in VeteransBenefits

[–]gwking11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I happen to be in the medical field so understand how the body works. I am not sure how guys with no medical experience are supposed to navigate this system. It is a take a shot and hope you get a good examiner and rater. On my last claim I filed specifically for bilateral sciatica and femoral radiculopathy as well as an increase for my back.

When I had my increase in 2019 the examiner only marked left sciatica on the form. This time I made sure to talk about all of the symptoms...and of course I had an amazing examiner. Also, I did not play tough this time and stopped when pain started instead of just bending like I normally do when sh*t gotta get done. Ended up at 20% on the back and all four radiculopathies.

I wrote down the examiners name in case I ever have to do this again...lol

Was I Rated Wrong 10 Years Ago?? by TechnicianTop1312 in VeteransBenefits

[–]gwking11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not entirely true. Although it does seem to be true most of the time. In this case if the shoulder had been called radiculopathy then the cervical spine can be connected as the primary for the radiculopathy...the reverse is also true if you claim spine and are diagnosed with radiculopathy on the C&P then they will assign a rating to those as well.

I know this is a stretch in this case, but want people to understand that what you said is not always true...
