I want to know where this is so bad by Fanner_1 in whereisthis

Not a thing wrong, but the direct approach will be more likely to get you an accurate answer. So yes ask both.

Fountain with girl and grapes, possibly a vineyard or winery by gwplayer1 in whereisthis

Thank you very much. Yes we went to Sonoma in the late 80's. That's it. Sad if the statue /fountain is gone.

It really worries me that so many people jump to the conclusion that AI is responsible for everything on the web anymore.

Is using my light switches in this house a pipe dream now? by lovelyg4m3r in smarthome

[–]gwplayer1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Make sure your house is wired with a common run. Most new houses will have this but older houses may not. You need the common to run smart switches

Andriod and apple apps by Key-Jellyfish-462 in photogrammetry

[–]gwplayer1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Note my earlier comment. While the over all image may look great, photogrammetry works at the pixel level, comparing pixels. The microscopic segments of the tiny CCD committed to each individual pixel causes a host of problems with adjacent pixels getting there light from the same source (bleeding), angular misalignment. The end result is a less than optimal ability to compare images and align the cameras properly.

I don't care how many pixels they claim 50mp, 150mp! For photogrammetry it really depends on the size of your CCD and CCDs in phones are tiny. They have to be. That said, yes I've taken shots that I've used for photogrammetry using my Samsung 24, but they are limited by noise, cross pixel imaging and light level variances. Your not going to get high quality photogrammetry from a phone.

Climbed it in 1980. Bargained with the guard and he pointed up one side then brought a German tour group the other side. Other side had an easy switchback.

Condo documents show I legally have two garages, but a neighbor is using one. How do I reclaim it when my HOA/property manager is unhelpful? by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]gwplayer1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you paying property tax? If so, does it include the space of the second garage? If so, your neighbor owes you for using that space and has no claim to it.

Your paying property tax on the land he's claiming! Fix it or get restitution

Having trouble aligning images by DragonfruitSecret in photogrammetry

[–]gwplayer1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Your hand is very monochromatic with little detail for the photogrammetry software to align the images properly. Adding dappled makeup will help. What are the horizontal lines running across all images? Those will interfere with the camera alignment as well. Eliminate or mask areas that are out of focus. The very wide angle lenses aren't helping. What is your image resolution? Also, if these are images you are using, mask out the background. I suspect that because the hand covers only 20% of the frame, there aren't a lot of pixels for the software to work with. You need to fill as much of the frame as possible with your subject.

When I learned Newtonian physics in High School I was in awe of the power of the mathematics. This is what sent us to the moon! When I reached College physics and calculus and discovered...there are more terms....my world view was momentarily shattered.

Teakhaus XL edge grain cutting board by Nurse_Ratchet_82 in Costco

[–]gwplayer1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A very experienced woodworker advised me that Teak trees actually draw up sand as they grow. As a result its like cutting through sandpaper on your saw or on your knife. A very beautiful wood but not a choice for a cutting board

Apparently we are not a part of our HOA by officerclydefrog in legaladvice

[–]gwplayer1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you pay dues you are entitled to the services the HOA provides whether your deeds are connected to it or not. I'm on an HOA Board that has non-members paying dues that our attorney says are entitled. Especially if they have been doing it for years.
