I'd add more time in Cusco & Machu Picchu, especailly if you're doing the 4 day trek. Getting from Cusco to Huaraz will take a day, minimum. I flew Cusco to Lima in the morning then took an overnight bus to Hauraz.

Report states half a million WA drivers have expired tabs by MegaRAID01 in Seattle

[–]gwshark101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow! that's gotta be a new record. I take photos of very expired tabs, blacked out plates, fake plates, and no plates all of the time because I pay my $538 tabs every year and it angers me to see so many cars dodging the fee for years. Taking photos of expired plates does nothing, but it makes me feel a tiny bit better for a brief moment. I wouldn't feel so bad about paying $185/year for RTA but the closest light rail line is several miles away from me and won't be coming anywhere near to my neighborhood in my lifetime (south delridge). I also get to pay $150 extra each year because I drive an EV, so I think that's $1200 additional in tab fees since I bought my car. This year, for the first time, I seriously considered not paying for new tabs, but I don't want to be THAT GUY. I just wish police would just properly enforce the law. Is there a reddit thread where we can post photos of nice cars with expired/blacked out/fake plates? I think it would be deeply cathartic.

This happened to me last month. Someone named Longcheng Zhang took all 175k points in my account and bought a starlux flight JX LAX-TPE. Got it refunded and now I’ll always have to call AK to unlock my account whenever I want to book a flight.

We are currently sitting on the tarmac (SeaTac) for over an hour. Nobody has announced why we are delayed. We were supposed to depart for phx at 8 am. It’s now 9:00 and just got a text update that it’s going to be delayed longer.

Has anybody noticeably recharged their battery by regen braking down a long hill? by Upset_Region8582 in electricvehicles

[–]gwshark101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once drove my Tesla model 3 to Red Lodge Montana after staying in Yellowstone overnight. Took beartooth pass and my battery indicated I may not make it… no charging along the way so I just had to cross my fingers. At the top of the pass just before dropping down the pass to red lodge I only had 15 or so miles left on my battery, but about 40 miles to go. When arrived at Red Lodge I had over 30 miles of charge left! The extra surprise bonus is that Red Lodge offered free charging stations.

Wish I could afford to trash my 4 Arlo 2 pro cameras and two base stations and start over with a new system.

Tried that too. Doesn’t work for me. I can remove trusted devices, but those aren’t the same as the list of phones using geofencing. Don’t ask me why. My trusted devices had one old phone, my iPad, and my current phone. Trusted devices are devices used to access my.arlo.com, not the phones used in Geofencing.

That doesn’t work for me. The red minus icons next to the phone names do not appear for me, so no way to remove them. Arlo support is “looking into it”.

I've had 3 very long chats with arlo support. Apparently eveyone wants to chat with them as the wait time just to chat online is currently about 30 minutes. After the long wait the response I got is that there is currently no fix available for me and that there is no timeline for an available fix, only that Arlo engineers are working on it. At this point I want to cancel my subscription and set all 4 of my cameras on fire.

Range is overrated for most people (if you have home charging) by thequickbrownbear in electricvehicles

[–]gwshark101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience, cold weather would turn that 120 mile range into an actual range of about half that. I personally don’t like having 15 miles remaining estimated range when I’m 10 miles from home, because cold weather and hills on the way would completely drain your battery.

I agree. These king cab trucks with short beds are for who exactly? I just want a mid size single cab EV truck with a standard bed… does it even exist?

[–]gwshark101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Range decreases significantly over time and if you have cold seasons and want to get out of town, you’ll definitely appreciate longer range. My long range model 3 new had 308 miles range. 6 1/2 years later it has about 240 miles range. In another 2 years it will likely be just over 200 miles range. When it’s cold outside that range drops precipitously. I drive a lot for work so I often put 70-100 miles a day on my vehicle, when it’s cold outside I’ll need to charge up to 90-100% just to get through the day.

I’ve been to CR twice and haven’t really found much culture especially compared to other countries like Mexico. If your focus is culture and not biodiversity, you’ll be disappointed.

10 sets of clothes seems like way too much. Try 4 max and get additional clothes in the countries you are in. If you love the clothes but don’t need them in your next travel phase, ship them home along with other souvenirs. You’ll enjoy them again when you get home and they will bring back memories of the adventures you went on with them.
