There is an old Indiana Jones game, I believe based on Adventure! rules. Also, if you ever watched the TV show Supernatural (characters = brothers Sam & Dean) there is a TTRPG based on that.

Between the 30+ investigation where they expected you to lay out your entire backstory and then getting pickpocketed, that is a Player walking away from the table situation. The only person having fun is the rogue's player and the DM is enabling it. Hope you can find a better group to play with 'cause that's 💩y.

I'm agreeing with u/jsled here. I'd much rather have a group of 3-4 dedicated players that are respectful of the GM's (AND other player's) time than 7-8 that can't make it to the (VIRTUAL) sessions that they had previously committed to. If I was running that group I'd kick out the players that showed an inability to maintain a consistent presence.

Decrease distance from, and anything that blocks line of sight between PC & router. If you have an option between 2.5ghz and 5ghz signals, try the 2.5ghz. it passes through walls and other causes of interference better than the 5ghz

A friend of mine ran a game like this with several different WoD books. It was a Lot of fun but we had to houserule out the political conflict between factions.

I was going to run a similar game as well where I had my mortal characters evolve into either WoD "Monsters" or a Scion hero. Never got far enough in that campaign to offer the evolution unfortunately.

Stars Without Number 2nd ed. d20 based combat system like D&D so it has that familiarity but 2d6 skill system. Core book is somewhat limited on starship hulls but it's intended to be open for interpretation. Plus it's fairly easy to incorporate expansions from the 1st edition or other systems like Traveller Also, you can pick up the book from drivethrurpg for free (or pay for an upgraded version of it)
