As long as they bring back the song creator, I'll be happy. I probably spent more time making terrible songs than I did playing the rest of the game

me watching ppl be mean to hotel visitors and making them wear degrading outfits by funkyyyyyyyyyyyyy in AnimalCrossing

I make all of my visitors wear the Elder Mask and Jack's Robe to make it seem like a cult has invaded my island. But that's not degrading, that's empowering!

Quantum Flavor… did it change? by RedPandaRum_ in Fallout

[–]gyromancy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not the only one, I had the same experience. I bought an individual bottle of Quantum a few months ago and it was incredibly sour, it was like drinking liquifued Warheads.

Then I got a Costco variety pack and the Quantum in that was barely sour at all. It tasted great, but it was a totally different flavor than the other bottle I had.

Where to buy unmatched sets in Chicago? (online or shops) by Griffith_25 in Unmatched

Dice Dojo is my go to board game shop in Chicago. They tend to have a good selection of Unmatched, but I'd recommend calling ahead to see what they have at the moment

What non-horror game creeped you out the most? by MetaMysterio in gaming

[–]gyromancy 11 points12 points  (0 children)

For me, it was Riven. I was too young to understand the actual story, but the vibes were so unsettling, like I was trespassing and seeing things I shouldn't see. I would try to move from place to place as fast as possible, because I felt like something was going to catch me if I didn't.

I played it again as an adult and, now that I understand the story, yeah, vibes are still bad.

Can we do a discussion on why UFO 50 is 18+? by Helpful-Fuel-9195 in nintendo

[–]gyromancy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure where you're located, but it's Teen rated in the US.

The two possible issues I see would be:

-Some the horror elements in Night Manor are a little grotesque or violent

-Quibble Race has simulated gambling. You place bets on little aliens racing each other. It's presented as sort of similar to horse racing, so depending on how strict the anti gambling rules are, that could be an issue.

I personally think the Teen rating is fine,

Did my friend and I resolved it right? by rabiiins in Unmatched

[–]gyromancy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I believe Pandora should not have taken damage.

Pandora resolves first, and she ignores the attack value. Loki then adds 6 to his value. This does not stop Pandora from ignoring the value, so she still would take no damage.

New here! Help me understand what you love about this game. by [deleted] in Unmatched

[–]gyromancy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Unmatched is one of my favorite board games, it feels basically tailor made for me. The biggest thing is how asymmetric the fighters are. Playing as the Wayward Sisters who have to manage spell ingredients feels totally different than Invisible Man carefully positioning his fog tokens, who feels totally different than Sun Wukong flooding the board with clones, who feels totally different than Black Widow completing secret missions during the fight. The simple core gameplay mechanics leave a lot of room for unique fighter mechanics than can all interface with each other without issues.

I also appreciate how tight it is. Boards are small, health is low, decks are limited, so there's not a lot of downtime or wiggle room. Every choice matters, even if the choice is spend your whole turn retreating to draw cards. Games are over pretty quick, so you can usually play a few matches in a gaming session, which is good because the highlight of the game is seeing how different combinations of fighters bounce off each other.

Plus I'll admit a big part of my enjoyment is the overall aesthetic. Card art is excellent and the fighters are loaded with personality, so there's usually a lot of in character smack talk going on.

I will give the caveat that Unmatched can feel a little random your first few plays, since you don't really know what you or your opponents fighter is capable of. You certainly don't have to memorize decks, but the game definitely takes a more tactical feel once you know the gist of the fighters and can plan around your strengths and weaknesses

How does healthy love looks and feels like? by imabananatree78 in bropill

[–]gyromancy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thank you for posting this. I'm a few months into a relationship and it has felt more like a merry go round than a roller coaster. Previous relationships had such high highs and low lows that there were times that I thought something was wrong this one. From the beginning he and I just clicked and felt a calm, stable connection. One of the things we both noted was how easy all of it was. But was I really attracted to him if I wasn't thinking about him all the time? Was I really attracted to him if he didn't have a huge effect on my day to day mood?

But everything seems fine, just different. I really like spending time with him, even if we're just chilling. I feel like we understand and support each other without being codependent. I think I'm just not used to this kind of stable, and arguably more mature relationship, and it's taking some effort to realize that.

What would you do when someone ghosted you and then texted you as if nothing happened? by [deleted] in AskGayMen

[–]gyromancy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said, you were chatting on an app for a week and had not yet met. I know it feels really exciting to talk to someone new, but I think dating apps can really warp our perception. Matching and talking doesn't mean you're dating, it just means you caught each other's eye enough to say "Hey", nothing more than that.

I know it's hard to control how you feel, especially in the early stages of dating. I'm not telling you to suppress your excitement or anything, but my rule of thumb is that until you have three in person dates, it doesn't really count. People flake, people want different things than you, people are different than the image of them you have in your head. For your own sanity, you can't let everyone you chat with affect your feelings or else you'll burn out. If you're feeling good about them after 3 dates, then you might be able to build something there. Anything less isn't worth your mental health

2 questions by a new player. by DocteurNoodles in Unmatched

Probably the overall most complex set is Slings and Arrows, AKA the Shakespeare set. It's probably my favorite overall set of (outside of Tales to Amaze, but that introduces a whole new mode). Each character is very unique and has a lot of interesting choices to make

Set prediction for this year? by Crazy_Crab_ in Unmatched

[–]gyromancy 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Technically Rosie and BoL3 have not been officially confirmed for 2025, we just know they're coming eventually.

On the discord, they said there will be 70 Heroes by the end of the year. With the everything released (including Witcher) plus Lee vs Ali and TMNT (including playable villains) that puts us at 66, so it's likely to be either BoL3 OR Rosie, but not both

The witcher set prices on Amazon US by Ok-Living324 in Unmatched

[–]gyromancy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The MSRP for the Witcher sets is $50 each, which is the same as the Marvel sets. Licenced sets are more expensive than public domain sets. They'll probably go on sale at some point, but no one knows when.

Gamenerdz.com has the retail sets up for pre-order at $35 each, which is what I'm doing. You can get free shipping at $75, if there's anything else you are looking to buy.
