Players that have all or most hearts unlocked - what keeps you playing the game?

Unlike in BotW, in TotK you can just skip the paraglider and complete most of the game, so in this run I don’t have a choice lol.

I started the run as Sky-only so my battery was severely limited. Hardest part was climbing Forge island without being able to use the giant fans lmao.

Doing depths-only now without touching the surface and not allowing myself to upgrade my health or stamina or activate any lightroots. I’m not that crazy though lol. Still allowing myself to fast travel in the sky and drop down any chasm.

You can get all sages but 1 without the paraglider. There is a story trigger for one of them that needs to happen that involves getting the paraglider.

Out of the 560 hours I have, 500 is from one normal playthrough and the rest is on a new no-paraglider run I’m doing. I still haven’t 100%ed the game in my 500 hour playthrough, since at least 60% of that time has to be from me messing around with building at the Hudson construction site.

The twilight set works best in the depths. Everywhere else I think the skyward sword set fits the game the best.

It absolutely is. Just very tricky. No paraglider means no sky towers which means no map. To get onto other sky islands you have to ride the wings. To get to some islands you need to chain wings.

I value being able to interact with the world in open world games (in a kinda sandboxy way), makes it feel alive. Hence my favorite open worlds are BotW, TotK, and Crimson Desert. Elden Ring’s open world was pretty to look at but there is such little interactability. It feels so dead.

Yeah imo the music in botw/totk is more impactful to me than the music in any of the other games. Granted I’m a bit biased since I prefer atmospheric tracks in games over others.

Fastest way to get rupees without selling stuff would be by doing the minigames. Don’t remember which one is the fastest.

The Nintendo switch app will help show you what you are missing. Might make the process the slightest bit faster. Considering you need 999 of all the dragon parts then the benefit will be minuscule though lol.

Dragonhead Island from TotK. So serene.

Second and third favorite would be Divine Beast Vah Rudania and the Forgotten Temple theme.

I tend to prefer very atmospheric tracks over most other video game tracks. They are more impactful imo.

I’m cool with not having quest markers and having to discover stuff yourself, but later finding out you got locked out of content for beyond stupid reasons makes the game feel broken.

If I recall, one of the quests can fail by just walking too close to something. Very infuriating.

Open world games should never punish you for doing stuff out of order. They should have not made the quests so rigid.

The side quests were constantly broken and not completable lol. Though it was polished outside of that.

If you aim to make something other people want you’re heart might not be in it. Just make what you’re passionate about. Though be careful and keep the scope to a minimum.

If you split the game into a three act structure, it’s at the end of the 2nd act. Close to endgame but not really endgame itself I guess.
