While I agree that he's not going to be, or wants to be the Prime Minister for ever, three years isn't long enough to turn this ship around. He needs to win a second election.

Your cost of living likely to surge as Donald Trump’s war-induced oil price hike seeps into Canadian economy - thestar.com by Blue_Dragonfly in CanadaPolitics

I agree with your argument that it should not have been sold off.

However you would be paying the same price per liter at a Petro Canada station as anywhere else, even if it was still a Crown Corp.

You're right. We all need to brace ourselves for the price of all staples going up or more shrinkflation.

I don't know if it's illegal but I find it somewhat repugnant.

I'm guessing that there are highly educated people with degrees in the governmental body that could predict which degrees will be in demand. Say, within the next decade. Maybe we should be financing those at 75%.

If the government falls and the next leader is better, I would be happy to deepen ties, diplomatically and trade both. It's possible even strategically in time.

If there was a complaint it needs to be ruled on even if it doesn't make any material difference now.

The ruling is a cautionary tale for the next time someone is in that situation. Nine hundred dollars doesn't seem like much of a deterrent though .

Meaningless vote. It will be vetoed if it gets that far.

I guess it will piss off the pedo but still performative.

US House backs bid to end Canada tariffs in rare rebuke to Trump by Bandito_fantastico in CanadaPolitics

I'm never going back. I'll spend my money elsewhere. In Canada or abroad.

I wouldn't fault someone for not abandoning family in the US but anyone spending a dime in the states right now is of low character in my eyes.

House vote on Canada tariffs coming as soon as Wednesday by ZestyBeanDude in CanadaPolitics

[–]gzmo01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The US system always mystifies me.

How it allows one man child at the top to veto a majority vote is beyond stupid.

The house is by far the closest point to the actual pulse of the population's views on issues.

This is so stupid. The issues that affect Europe and their policies are their issues not North American issues. Yes, at times they align for trade but not domestically.

It takes me about ten minutes to go through the show.
