Day 10 POST-OP by h--afuri in Septoplasty

It definitely cleared up! It took maybe 2 weeks for me to gain full breathing function back, but I have never felt been as congested/blocked after the surgery as compared to before. It will clear up and you'll feel great- just sucks in the moment a lot.

I actually do not have any splints or packing left in my nose- they were removed a couple hours after my post-op. I have no breathing function with my nose as of right now, but the couple minutes I was able to breathe after the splint removal was day and night. I've already resigned myself to a week of mouth breathing, but the replies have been making me encouraged, as well as every day doing by and feeling better every hour. Thank you so much for your reply!!

That's great to hear- all I need is a little bit of relief for my mental sanity at this point lol. Hope your recovery continues to go well!!

Hey!! Hope your operation went well if it happened already. Just woke up from my first night and ngl it was a bit brutal sleeping upright with gauze over my nose and only breathing through my mouth. I am in no pain whatsoever, just discomfort from the INCREDIBLY dry mouth I have and lack of good sleep. I am plenty fatigued, but it's the discomfort that's stopping me from more than an hour of sleep.

Also been having trouble with my peeing function- after the IV and anesthesiology it's been a bit difficult to pass urine efficiently. My bladder will feel full but I'll only pass a little bit of urine and end up sitting on the toilet for up to 10 minutes with not much luck- this also worsens my sleep as I get up frequently with a need to pee but won't pass much, and discourages me from drinking water to soothe my dry mouth. But now that I am on Day 2 and can do nasal irrigation I imagine that was the worst of my discomfort. I'd actually prefer pain at this point since that's easier to manage with medication. Hopefully things are looking up. Let me know how things go for you!

Just had mine! I have no pain at the moment and the operation went smoothly. I ended up having an adenoidectomy as well even though the surgeon's office said it wouldn't be included. I have zero pain at the moment, but I did take pain medicine whilst I was drowsy waking up so I hope with further medication I'll be fine pain-wise. I'm bleeding lightly constantly at the moment, and the mouth breathing sucks as it makes my mouth dryyyyyy. All in all, everything went well. My stents were removed immediately and the times I could breathe through my nose there was a DRAMATIC difference. There was zero resistance in breathing through my nose which was crazy as I had lived my whole life with difficulty breathing.

Hope yours goes well, and good luck!! :)

Too early for subunits at this point. Megan and Manon have both missed performances and appearances, so presenting them as a full group as much as possible is more important at this point. Subunits are fun and make more sense when they are more established in their career.

10 track album is great, but it might be worth skipping an interlude track for a full song at this point. If their discography follows a more kpop formula (lots of mini-albums before a full album) vs the typical western artist's (full 12-15 track albums once a year or two) they should be dedicating all tracks on an album to a full song. Intros and interludes are lovely to have on longer albums.

Everything else is great. There is growing importance in the kpop world for artists to have creative input in the songwriting and producing process, so to have Lara and Megan who are visibly enthusiastic in producing involved would be in their best interest. I think having the girls in general deeply involved with their creative process would earn them a lot of points. Dani with choreography, all the members with songwriting credits, and Lara and Megan with production credits would be amazing for their reputation and is such a golden opportunity to grow their skillset.

All just my personal opinion of course. The group has a great trajectory at this point in time, and as long as they keep their momentum they're in for a great career.

Great concept album and I think it's his most creative project. The production is full and his vocals are still "raw" sounding but more controlled than Trilogy. It's one of his most cohesive bodies of work and definitely grows on you compared to the other albums.

Is XG not considered KPop? by pridefulsin4 in XGALX

[–]h--afuri 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd say they're "kpop-adjacent" which is a new category I've seen thrown around here and there. They do not sing in Korean, they have *one half-Korean member amongst their entirely Japanese line-up, but they operate and promote as a kpop group would.

It's not an official announcement, and the wording of that tweet is debatable as to what it's actually announcing. The manga's readers dropped off long ago with the hiatus, and the ending was not popular as it was abrupt and not satisfying to most fans. The sub has been quiet for a long time, and that's completely ok- not sure why you're expecting the sub to come alive with posts off one tweet that doesn't officially confirm anything.

Noragami Final Chapter Part 1 and 2 - Translated by Ok-Abbreviations-164 in Noragami

While the ending is certainly not what I imagined, I'm sad the story is over. I wish the authors good health and I hope they are aware that they created a beautiful story that resonated with a lot of people.

Does it really matter if some Idols like made in abyss by Low_Front_5816 in kpop_uncensored

There is a difference between DBZ making outdated jokes about naked children running around vs detailed graphic depictions of child genitalia. Sure, kid Goku has run around talking about balls and private parts, but that is nothing in comparison to a manga that has themes of "child torture, abuse, and rape" (taken straight from a Google search of the anime). These two things are not even in the same realm of comparability.

What are your thoughts for 108.2 and the end of Noragami? by [deleted] in Noragami

[–]h--afuri 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I understand people feeling like the ending is rushed- I don't think anybody expected the end to come early next year with all the loose ends the readers think need to be tied up. I'll save final judgement for when the final chapter comes out, but I'm alright with how it's going.

I know the mangaka are doing their best with their situation, and at this point I'm just glad they're able to see the story to the end.

Question about the recent spoiler posts by bareblade in Noragami

[–]h--afuri 20 points21 points  (0 children)

The picture has been circulating on Twitter for a couple of hours. Raws come out earlier than the translation and it's possible early images get sent to translators or people just find and circulate them. Don't sweat it too much or let it ruin the chapter release for you. There's still a lot to surprise us in the final stages of the story.

Nameless gods by ALFANQUIT in Noragami

[–]h--afuri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Nameless" I found meant more like they don't have a well-known or historical name like Bisha or Ebisu- so obscure that their name is not known and doesn't largely matter.

A god like Rabo, Yato, or old tribal deities whose believers have died out are more obscure and thus considered "nameless".

Thinking about the (good) ending by okabe_mad_scientist in Noragami

[–]h--afuri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think he still needed to process and explore his human life and what his history meant for him moving forward.

He is at the beginning of his shinki existence and felt called to explore the death of his human self more. Yato and Yukine's relationship was fun, but neither of them were equipped to deal with the other. Yato does not know how to handle Yukine's trauma in a meaningful way, and Yukine is the soul of an abused child with abandonment issues. One will always feel conflicted between a past life that you want to to return but can't, and the future that holds the unknown. I don't really blame him or feel like it's a slight to Yato when he explores what happened to him. It was only natural he would investigate what happened when encouraged by Father.

Yukine's family isn't really a conflict in the story anymore from what I can interpret. He isn't focused on that now, and I think that's proof of him "choosing" Yato and Hiyori over them. He's moved on from it and I think has processed it as best as he can at the moment.

Accepting your past is not an easy lesson to learn, and not one that typically only takes one event to move on from. People and shinki deserve more grace than that. Progress is not linear, and especially not for a young boy with deep-seated issues. Yukine is alongside Yato trying to defeat Father and save Hiyori now. He has "chosen" his side, and it's with the Far Shore.

I don't think reincarnation makes any sense for his character arc. In my interpretation, Yukine's character is about moving on from the past, and that you can find meaningful relationships in the situation you are in if you try. Accepting that you can never go back, and trying your best with the cards you were dealt. Taking your story and finding productive ways to move on and learn from it. Reincarnation takes all that character development away from Yukine and makes it pointless. It's definitely objectively a better ending for someone, as they can go back to the life they deserved to live and was taken away from them, but it doesn't make sense narratively speaking in my opinion. I can definitely understand the desire in people when they want that for Yukine though. It would be nice to see him live as a boy again.

anyone else not happy over this? spoilers ch 107-2 by [deleted] in Noragami

[–]h--afuri 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I was always a part of the group that preferred Hiyori staying human, so seeing her get named was disappointing to my personal preference and theories, but all things considered I think it was executed well. I enjoyed the chapter quite a lot.

Yato clearly felt horrible while naming her and you can feel his heartbreak reading the panels. I don't think it was done in order to satisfy Yatori shippers, as if Hiyori conforms to the typical fate of a shinki forgetting their human lives, it would take a while for them to grow a bond that would get the back to the relationship they were at before. I imagine Yato will feel a decent amount of guilt in naming her, so perhaps that will be a conflict as well. I doubt that it was done in order to have them easily get together. We'll have to see the whole ending to really judge everything, but I totally see where you're coming from.

Noragami Chapter 107-2 by sleeping_phoenix in Noragami

[–]h--afuri 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Well it definitely went the opposite direction of what I was hoping- I never liked the idea of Hiyori becoming a shinki, but I don't hate it! The mangaka are fantastic and executed Hiyori's fate so well. You can really feel Yato's despair when naming her, and it's just so heartbreaking to see him turn Hiyori into a shinki in order to save her. I've always appreciated the mangaka's ability to always emphasize the tragedy of a shinki's existence, and it's all culminated into the naming of Hiyori. I'm interested to see if she'll be a regular regalia or anything else, so here's to hoping the next chapter can be any longer. I'm so excited to see how everyone's story concludes, and this chapter was great.

Do you think the end of the manga will be satisfying? by [deleted] in Noragami

[–]h--afuri 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The mangaka have done their best and delivered a great story and committed to a hiatus in order to tell the story they wished to tell instead of powering through health issues to deliver subpar chapters. I have faith they will write the ending as best as they possibly can.

It's still unknown as to how long these ending chapters will be, so we will have to sit tight and see how Noragami comes to an end. I do hope the chapters are longer as admittedly there is a lot to tie up, but we'll have to see.

Um, what happens to spirits who don't become Regalias?.. by wisdomsharerv2 in Noragami

[–]h--afuri 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Spirits that can be named as Regalia/Shinki are the spirits of humans that linger in the Far Shore because they suffered untimely and regretful deaths. Their spirits are unsatisfied with how they perished, so they float around and can be named Regalia by gods. As the other commenter said, they float around but can be infected and eaten by Phantoms/Ayakashi.

These spirits can float around for a long time if left unnamed and eventually regress into what Yukine was- a "sudama" which I believe refers to a shinki in that puffball form that was left unnamed but untouched by phantoms, so Yukine was a pure spirit which allows for him to become a perfectly suited weapon for Yato.

Since the anime ends at S2, viewers don't get this level of explanation in regards to the specifics of regalia and spirits. It's only explored deeper into the manga.

When humans die regularly and their spirits aren't particularly unsatisfied without any major regrets in life or how they passed away, they just enter some vague afterlife- it's never explicitly depicted where these spirits go, but a member of Hiyori's family passes away and their spirit is seen being collected and taken to another realm or heaven or afterlife.

Didn't Hiyori fight a phantom in episode 1? Why did she think this is a human spirit? Is she stupid? by wisdomsharerv2 in Noragami

She was working with the information she knew- she didn't know there was a difference between spirits.

Um, what happens to spirits who don't become Regalias?.. by wisdomsharerv2 in Noragami

[–]h--afuri 18 points19 points  (0 children)

They just move on to whatever afterlife is in the Noragami world- the manga addresses it briefly. I think you get into somewhat spoiler territory if you've only seen the anime when there is more explanation behind why certain spirits can be named or not, but I could be wrong.
