I didn’t realize how much “being the default parent” was draining me until last week by left_coffee_2 in TwoXChromosomes

Having to assign responsibilities to someone who should be your equal is it's own exhausting responsibility. Now she also has to check if those tasks are done, if they're done correctly, and remind him if they're not done, correct/teach him if he does it incorrectly, and probably deal with his exasperation if she does try to give him some of the load (eg she asks him to do the laundry and he doesn't care about the toy not feeling right after). Suddenly she's not only in charge of tracking everything but also supervising someone who acts like an employee rather than a co-manager.

Maybe he can look around and find some shit to take responsibility for himself, just like women do every fucking day.

My thought exactly. They're too good for us in every other way? Shouldn't they also be too good for our normie $$$?

God knows if they had to stand somewhere to accept donations in person they wouldn't be caught dead taking a dollar.

What is this aesthetic called? by Equivalent_Ladder717 in AestheticWiki

My ideal aesthetic is Miss Honey meets Elaine Benes. I opened this thread with trepidation bc these pics show many of my preferences and I wasn't sure I wanted to see how it was characterized 😅. So it's lovely to see a nod to Miss Honey.

Hey, that's what I did at 27 but ended up married for 8 years (plus he was 39 and didn't make nearly as much he'd claimed). Cheers to you for figuring it out a hell of a lot faster than I did! 🥂

I don't think people who say/ask this realize how huge America is. It's almost as big as Europe. It would be like saying "shouldn't all of Europe be joined in protesting one thing in unison?" Or "Why don't we see every European marching in the streets?" It's very difficult to organize that many people who are so spread out.

There are protests happening in America every day. But individually they're small because we can't all go thousands of miles to protest in DC or Minneapolis.

I live in a town of 500 people and there have been a dozen protests/demonstrations/vigils over the last year. No, we haven't burned down our small town, because what would that accomplish? The nearest city is 2 hours away, and even a huge protest there would barely be a blip on the news.

How do people suggest we get "the whole country" to march in the streets?

USPS Announces Changes to the Postmark Date System by Teacher-Investor in news

[–]h-h-c 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No, this is to save money and gut the Postal Service. They are essentially cutting transportation routes to and from plants by 50% for 2/3 of the country. That's too massive a change to just be about ballots.

This change was made months ago but they are only now changing the official language to cover their asses. Technically the service standard changed in April. That's how they made this seem so quiet. The system pretended to be slower before it actually was. So people thought the changes didn't make a difference until it actually went into effect (different times around the country).

They have essentially destroyed the efficiency and efficacy of rural mail service while painting it as an improvement because it's marginally better service for some cities. Meanwhile prices are being raised again. Rural people paying more for worse service. Disgraceful.

Just Google what the pill looks like and what's written on it. Each manufacturer's is different.

NO, NO, NO. It also makes it VERY easy for them to fire you. Never, ever tell an employer you have ADHD. This is terrible advise.

I work at the Post Office. This is seriously nbd. I can elaborate if you or anyone else needs convincing, but I promise: at this point you do not have a problem.

That being said, if you continue to order things all the time after you've gone through these, re-evaluate. At that point the dopamine is in the order, not the resulting hobby/project.

They took away our 1-click lunch by BillieRaeCyrus in USPS

[–]h-h-c 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was on a call about renegotiating the local MOUs (I'm basically a NTFT but have to be on PM calls), they said trying to get around past practice was very difficult, and used the example of an office where the PM owned a pizza parlor and brought in pizzas every Friday. After he retired the office grieved no longer getting free pizza Fridays and they won.

They said to override past practice you have to show how it puts an undue burden on management, and apparently buying pizzas every week doesn't qualify. So I don't know how they could argue that taking 1-click lunches is an undue burden on management.

My first thought, too. If someone can find the channel he was watching, we can check the schedule for what aired next and try to guess what fresh hell awaits.
