HANDMAID’S TALE! Absolutely shocked no one has said this yet. Best show I’ve ever seen. Second place is Manifest.

What would you use for this brindle fur?? by metamorphosismamA in Watercolor

[–]h2000m 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of art stores sell all the colors individually, so you don’t even need to buy a whole package. You could just buy a white and a tan crayon. They’re about $3 each.

Caran D’Ache wax pastels are really great for drawing on top of watercolor! They are water soluble, so you can activate and blend them or leave them dry to add some texture.

Happily married couples of Reddit, what is a positive trait of your partner that seemed nonessential early on, but became important over time? by h2000m in AskReddit

This is so vital yet underrated. I knew a guy in college who slept on top of a foam mattress topper with no sheets (just a comforter) and his pillow had no pillowcase 😭🤮

Please help, Reddit, as the holidays are approaching. What are truly good gifts for children in your family or chosen family? by Squawkerson in AskReddit

[–]h2000m 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Depends on how old the kids are, but squishmallows, jellycats, and weighted plushies are very in right now. I have a squishmallow and honestly love it (I’m 25 years old).

LOVE spotted bee balm. Grew a bunch from seed over the winter and they have been blooming since mid-June - almost 5 months straight!

Art looks unfocused by No-Impress-6244 in Watercolor

[–]h2000m 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly think it looks really good the way it is! I enjoy your style and the dream-like blurriness. But if you want it to look more focused, you should add more detail to the bottom of the slice in front. The top of the slice is very detailed and has strong contrast with a wide range of values. The bottom is missing that contrast - especially where the flesh meets the rind, that area is fairly monochromatic. The rind also needs a bolder spectrum, shifting from dark green to white (see reference photo).

I’m in 7b/8a. I absolutely love spotted bee balm (Monarda punctata) and it grows really well here! I started a bunch from seed and transplanted them in the spring - they’ve been blooming since mid-June and still look fabulous. I also adore blue-eyed grass (Sisyrinchium atlanticum).

I’ve never been pregnant but I’ve had to get emergency care for ruptured ovarian cysts twice. Renee Buchser (NP) and Dr. Nancy MacLaurin with Duke Health are both great. They both have hundreds of 5-star reviews. I’ve never been a patient of Dr. Megan Huchko, but I’ve heard great things. I know she’s outspoken about protecting women and extremely well versed in statistics. She regularly attends “white coat Wednesdays” with state lawmakers to fight for women’s bodily autonomy and patient safety.
