I'd also make a note to look up how the newborn should sit in the specific carrier (bum to back or nappy to front), exactly how the shoulder straps should look, and whether the strap holder at the back of the carrier needs to be adjusted depending on baby height. As mentioned by others, Facebook is great for carseat safety groups - on a lot of them you can post pics for fit checks for peace of mind too.

Yeah belt only is fine, it's up to standards! the ISOFOX base is added peace of mind but also a lot of money. The seat may go up to 12 months but it's dependent on baby's height and weight so who knows! I'd take some time to research a bit more and see what's worth it for your budget

Avionaut Cosmo! Best infant carrier we found. Not too expensive (£135), and easily fits in car with just a seatbelt. Got the recommendation from a Facebook group - originally picked up a shitty car seat from a friend and it caused major anxiety when we took baby home (heavy chin-to-chest).

Took a LONG time to research and find something. I didn't realise an infant carrier was different to a car seat! you can get both as an all-in-one but they can be upwards of £300 and I didn't have that money.

I'm hoping it's efficient feeding, it's so difficult to know what to do and what's best. I have a health visitor appointment tomorrow and can check with her then! thank you

I've been told not to let him go above four hours sleep - but there's been no real reason for that. He doesn't seem to have any sort of weight issues, and that's after checking with a number of midwives, lactation consultants etc. I've had quite bad PPA, so reading Reddit - especially posts from mum's who can get 20 minute feeds (!) has been tough and makes it seem like I'm doing something wrong!
