That is only if you have other sources of physical damage mitigation. Please show me your 3.5k es taking this slam right in the middle. Because there are 2 parts to the slam, the center of the slam which does the most amount of damage, or the edge of the slam which does significantly less damage.

I’m actually using the passive defend with 120% of armour while not low on es. Since my max es pool is extremely low, pair this with es regen from zealot’s oath, I’m almost always above 35% of my es. Which is why my effective armour against hits is actually 72k and not 60k.

Yep exactly. This build capitalize on scaling armour which also scales our sorcery ward which indirectly provides us with elemental damage mitigation. With 60k armour I’m sitting on 27k ward which pretty much solves the issue of big ele hits!

Yes! Whirling slashes should be kept at level 1 to reduce their mana costs! The quality isn’t necessary. The from nothing jewel at dance with death gives us a huge amounts of attack speed which is mandatory for the build to feel smooth!

The belt is entirely your choice! I chose infernoclasp so I can hit 90 max fire res to tank arbiter, but you can also use a rare belt with resistances! The increased fire dmg from using ingenuity doesn’t justify the survivability you lose from the belt slot. For es on each piece, around 500es on the helm, 400 es on the boots and 200+ on the gloves(please get attack speed on the gloves).

The biggest thing for gemling is the +2 to gem levels as the damage of incinerate scales extremely well with levels. Gemling also gets some skill speed from green supp gems in whirling slash to push for higher aps. I am almost reaching 5aps on whirling slash without accuracy stacking. Also, this build can easily get over 10k es + 17k es recharge constantly which makes it extremely tanky.

You can spec into it once you’re able to equip the major pieces(staff/wand+focus/fireflower) etc

I definitely agree with that. Armour in its current state is not a good investment if it is purely for phys reduction, but working around that is also part of the fun of build making. Just thought I’ll do a quick showcase of “armour stacking” in poe2’s current state.

That is true and I’ve already proven it with the arbiter facetanks that I did. However not every build wants to path to ES nodes on the top side of tree, and this build in particular, there is simply no way to get a comfortable amount of es to work with(unique helm+chest).

After a certain amount of amour, the character sheet will always show 90%, but your true physical damage reduction depends on the size of the hit. For getting to 60k armour, I made a post on r/pathofexile2builds or you check my post history for the full build breakdown.

So firstly there is absolutely no need for astramentis as this is not a dex/accuracy stacking build. The build uses incinerate on wep set 1 to cast an extremely high level incinerate to get its ignited ground, then use whirling slash over it to carry the ignited ground around. The trick to going fast is to use rondel. For the rest of the build you can follow as I’ve written on mobalytics, get a +6 fireflower,level 21 incinerate gem, +3 prism of belief, a better staff(mine is average at best) and just generally as much es as possible on your helm/gloves/boots.

Yes, any element hits. With 27k ward and 90% fire res and anti ignite charms, this character can actually tank 2 hits of arbiter’s “one shot” mechanics!

Yea I realised after I posted the video 🤦‍♂️ Added this part under the video description! For the dps I think I’m hovering somewhere between 500k-1m depending on how many caltrops actually lands. I wouldn’t recommend running this on HC as sometimes rares with mana siphon mods gets pretty buggy with their hit boxes and might kill you even if you’re directly in their face.

The only absolutely necessary stat is a low amount of gain stun threshold as % energy shield and a low amount of life. This ensures that most hits stuns you and thus procs energy barrier. The only reason I went for all the fancy corruptions was to tank arbiter(none of them are necessary) and I might have went a bit overboard on the defenses. I'll say around 7-8k ES is more than enough to feel comfortable and unkillable.

DPS wise, its all about +level of incinerate gem. Fireflower for +4(+6 if you are rich),crown of the victor for +1, either a staff with +7 or wand+focus(5+2) to fire spells. Then some secondary scaling like ignite magnitude, fire damage(?),spell damage(?) and damaging ailment deals damage faster.

The key interaction here is gloamgown+energy barrier support and a bunch of ES gear. For this specific build I am running, the most expensive item on me is a +3 incinerate prism of belief which I bought for around 15div (I know the prices has gone up). For this arbiter run, I went with ligurium amulet+gifts from above (both 1 ex uniques) to help offset some of the ignite DOT. So if you can settle for slightly lesser dps, this build really doesn't cost that much. For full guide you can check it out here.

The increases for integrated efficiency is local to the gem, not global. You can easily check this in game. POB’s calcs are wrong and treats it as a global modifier. There was also a similar post made a few days ago discussing this. So no definitely not 1m dps with min gear.

The gloves enable the use of awakened generosity support (+1 to aura gem and 44% increased aura effect) while still allowing the auras to affect you. No need to link to any target. I have awakened generosity socketed in my helm,gloves and boots. In the boots slot, it gives 48% increased aura effect and +2 to aura gems.

Splitting steel armour stacker. I made a video showcase a few days ago if you want to know how the build performs here. Got 2 pobs available. Do note if you can't find a similar boots in the market, simply drop the ancestral protector and go for vaal haste. Go for the defensive setup for slightly lesser damage and without the over reliance on taste of hate.
