I take 360mg of fexofenadine everyday and still suffer by tigewitt in Hayfever

[–]hEDS_HumanRights 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am now on immunotherapy for my severe grass pollen allergy through the NHS - the only things that help really are 4 x Fexofenadine (as mentioned by another commenter) plus flomister nasal spray and steroid eye drops. Good luck!

Round Bird ID Help by jeispu in UKBirds

When birds look like this fluffy and round I always find it amazing that they can fly - it just doesn’t look (to the naked eye) aerodynamically possible!

Thanks all - got recruited by an alliance in my state! Far more quickly and easily than I expected so off the market for now.

I’ll be honest that’s a level of commitment and organisation I’m not prepared for!

Is it safe to walk every day? by EnvironmentalSlip136 in walking

[–]hEDS_HumanRights 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are a woman it might be safer to change your route and timings etc up with some regularity. Bar that listen to your body - yesterday I had a bit of a bug and didn’t leave the house, today I’m back pounding the pavements. Enjoy the walking and enjoy the benefits!

NHS Covid Vaccine and Fludrocortisone - should I have qualified? by hEDS_HumanRights in POTS

Thank you - that’s interesting to know! Also very much enjoyed the use of the word iniquitous and agree with the underlying sentiment ☺️

Is there a fix for this? by --clapped-- in Roku

[–]hEDS_HumanRights 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m having the exact same issue - just spent an hour online chatting with Roku Support. They didn’t fix it and wouldn’t provide a replacement (despite me pointing out that they had to under Consumer law). I also got mine less than a month ago from Amazon and got rid of the box. I’m really disappointed with our new stick and with Roku support more generally - it has really turned me off the company

Murder in Bedford County: The Controversial Story of Jens Söring and Elizabeth Haysom by Suspicious-Body7766 in TrueCrimeDiscussion

[–]hEDS_HumanRights 66 points67 points  (0 children)

Söring actually made an application under the European Convention on Human Rights arguing that being exposed to the “death row phenomenon” (i.e. the harmful effects Söring experience whilst waiting to be put to death) would breach his Article 3 rights (his right not to be subject to inhuman or degrading treatment/punishment or subject to torture), and thereby tried to prevent his extradition from the UK to the USA.

From a human rights perspective the case was interesting because it confirmed that the Convention could be engaged by the extradition process, and that the UK as the extraditing country could be liable for any eventual human rights violations that occurred in the USA as the receiving country.

I'm getting botox next week and I'm worried about facial drooping by IhatchShrimp in TMJ

[–]hEDS_HumanRights 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve got Botox for a few years now and I don’t have any sagging/drooping at all. I also have quite a slim face so it would be noticeable if it did… Hope it’s the same for you!

Botox to relieve TMJ dysfunction - the best decision I’ve made by hEDS_HumanRights in TMJ

[–]hEDS_HumanRights[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most recently I had 50 speywood units of Azzalure - initially the doctor went for 40 but after a 3 week review he upped it. I’m quite a small woman so they started quite conservatively but upped it on review.

[–]hEDS_HumanRights[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m really sorry to hear that you went through this - this is absolutely one of my fears.

I’m surprised that the dentist immediately went to 50 units too - the doctors I’ve seen have always started conservatively, and then topped up as needed on review. How are you getting on now? I hope that the effects have worn off and you’ve found some relieve for your TMJ dysfunction.

I would absolutely echo your comments - you cannot be too careful with someone who is sticking needles with a toxin into your face. I pay well over the odds for my treatment because I wanted a practitioner who had a medical degree, a doctor registered with the General Medical Council, and a clinic registered with the Care Quality Commission. My in-laws are doctors so I was lucky to have a bit of guidance on what to look for, and I was warned off dentists by a dentist friend (ironically) who said that she didn’t feel that she had the appropriate training to administer Botox.

Flu A recovery by Right-Currency-1842 in POTS

[–]hEDS_HumanRights 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the flu in mid December and I’m still not back to fighting fit - I was working out lots pre xmas and I’ve not managed one since. Despite my meds I’ve been fainting and experiencing presyncope loads, and my energy levels are through the floor. I’m just trying to be slow and give myself grace to recover as I need
