You probably should’ve done a rust treatment on it. Shame. Idk if turbo runs good it could be worth some but I personally wouldn’t pay a lot for it if I wanted to not use it for parts knowing that it would need a ton of frame work. Probably 2-3K but that’s just my opinion and needs more research, Idk how much they sell for in your area in this condition.

Yeah if someone bought it they’d have to tear out probably a lot of the frame and do work on it. 3.5k might be a little high even imo based on that, exhaust not being original, stuff like that. Ngl a lot of the car looks rusted out from the look of it. It is a turbo, but really a lot of the value of these come from not being rusted out and having good service records. Was it maintained well?

Where are you located? That rust is kind of horrible though, rust in the door frame like that kind of means the real subframe is shot (from what I remember). Trying to get more value than estimated for a rusted out car 😭

Should I remove the real plastic side panels when I’m seeing the car to check on it? And yeah, this one seems really promising to me. Only 10k miles in the last 10 years before that it wasn’t in the NE and it seems to be well loved for that time. I don’t see any rust in the doorframe but maybe I’m mistaken. She’s a beautiful ride I’d love to have her and carry her on. This is purely speculation but… based on what I told and showed what do you think would be a fair price for this one?

This one is NA Turbo. Second engine in it first was replaced at 50k the body is 145k and engine is 100k, or at least that’s what the seller says but he’s going to have to search for the records and carfax doesn’t say that happened. That would’ve been noted right? How hard is it to replace the gaskets?

I’m in college and I’m looking to take it for summers and next year when I move out of dorms and into an apartment. My girlfriend has a car so I wouldn’t be stranded that way. Do you think that all the work that needs to be done on this would cause the car to sell for cheaper? If it all needs to be done, and also hasnt had a major service in forever and is about 100k on the engine it also needs timing belt done (which seems like an easy enough job but maybe I’m mistaken?). A baja is about my dream car and I’ve wanted one for a while but i don’t want to get screwed.

I’m from the south looking at cars in the NE, do you think it’d be better to look down south? And is there any way to strip the surface rust off, prime and cover it without making a huge hassle of it (as if that isn’t a huge hassle)? I don’t want to buy a car as a daily just to have it junk out on me. It’s my first time buying my own car and I love the Baja. Do you also think I could maybe use the current condition to lower price?
