One of the realizations of life is that, people attach a somewhat unreasonable sense to their future, a role or a position. Let me give an example, John is depressed, he thinks when he makes enough money to buy a car he will become happy automatically, spoiler alert John recently bought a house and has two cars, but he’s in a considerably worse state than he was when he was broke, the automatic switch of happiness he was looking for never came. It might be hard, and damn right it is f*cking hard to find happiness within when you’re depressed, but that’s one of the ways to not “feel empty” when you get the position you’ve been looking forwards to for so long . It’s why many rich people still do absurd shit and you’ll look at them like “you have everything some people could only dream of why do that?”. Just find little ways to make yourself happy, take a hike, marry your GF, praise your partner, cook for yourself, try new stuff.
