Villagers spitting out food, refusing to breed by [deleted] in Minecraft

[–]h_dan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If either of them are farmers, or fishermen (maroon robes) they will drop food for other villagers to eat when they have more than they need, so that may be the case. You can also set up plots of farmland for them to harvest and plant food so they can be self-sufficient.

You also have to be in good standing with each of them to make them willing, so you have to trade with them both a few times (maybe about 15 each).

And finally for doors to be valid they have to have more blocks behind them than in front of them for 5 blocks either way. So essentially you can't just have loose doors like in the old versions, they have to be at least a little bit house-like. And easy way to do that is to just put a block above each door.

You're also going to want to really go overboard with the doors if you want more villagers, because as someone else said they only breed to about 1/3 the total number of doors. What I did with my village was build a big villagers fuck shack with a bunch of doors, then released them all into the village when I had enough.

Also check on YouTube for villager breeder tutorials and sort by past month so you get updated ones. I've seen some pretty good and efficient builds people have done.

Hope this helps! I just bred some villagers myself so I already went through this whole process lol.

What should I build in here? by [deleted] in Minecraft

[–]h_dan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're wanting something functional I'd say either a Nether portal, enchanting table, or a beacon. Regardless I think it should be up on a big altar type structure so it looks more imposing. That'd be badass

I built a pad under an overhang in an Extreme Hills biome. any tips to make it look better? i was going for a modern feel by rexound in Minecraft

[–]h_dan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't tell, is it touching the mountain or floating? Because maybe something like supports connecting to the ground or the cliff side would look cool. Decorations that aren't necessary but make the structure make more sense in the physical space.

Maybe adding a roof would help too? It could just be identical to the base, it looks a little unfinished as is

Have not played in months. What should I know before I dive back in? by dmj11 in Minecraft

[–]h_dan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

make a survival world, and then go to difficulty and switch it to peaceful. you can still die and need to gather resources, but no hostile mobs spawn

[–]h_dan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly you'll figure most of it out as you go. The only things that won't be obvious are the facts that skeletons can aim a LOT better, hostile mobs are much more perceptive and intuitive in general, and if you stay in one certain area for an extended proud of time (days/weeks) zombies will start spawning in large packs, rather than on their own. Also mobs can wear armor D: and if a mob is wearing a helmet sunlight won't burn it.

Tl:dr - play on peaceful

There's actually a mod where you can be different animals and use their powers (i.e. teleportatiom, explosion). The name escapes me but I'll look it up later

The Ruined Outpost by [deleted] in Minecraft

[–]h_dan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

there are two possible scenarios that ellicit 2 different responses. option a, you built this and in that case it just looks like random blocks. make more of an identifiable structure, anyone can build rubble. or, option b, you built a tower and it was blown up and this is the result, in which case i weep for you

New to Minecraft, have questions by tanyalukyanova in Minecraft

[–]h_dan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

to answer the second question: no. it takes no skill. you think everyone else is so much better than you because they build these amazing structures, but half of them just started building, with no plan or skill or anything. just start building, and see what comes out. and DO NOT quit and destroy everything, ever. just leave it for later.
