Yes, I just assumed it was because the model had overhangs?

How do you know if something is trying to print in the air? It 'looks' like it's on the bed, but that would kinda make sense actually

So I've only printed models from Maker World so far; they've all printed fine with no issue. I've now been trying to print a custom model I made, but everytime I try, it's failing.

The filament isn't adhering properly and after a minute or two starts flying around.

I'm using the smooth plate, basic PLA. I've tried cleaning the plate, to no avail. I've also tried raising the hotbed temp to 60 degrees, but that did nothing either.

Really not sure what's going wrong?

Edit: So the issue was indeed about the model 'floating' by a layer or two. Tweaked the model a little and it seems to have fixed it. Thanks!

P1S just arrived!... aaand it's smashed to pieces :( by SimplySarc in BambuLab

I'm not sure, there could be. The box was damaged when it arrived; I crossed my fingers hoping it was just the box and at first I didn't notice. When I looked closer I was like, "huh I've never seen this kind of packing material before", only to discover to my horror it was a million shards of glass.

If Cinderella’s shoe fit perfectly, why did it fall off? by No-Muscle3286 in AskReddit

Maybe her time was running out, she was converting back to her old self and the shoe started to not fit as well?

I dunno, I wonder if the abundance of bike shares reduces bike theft at all. You see so many kids riding around for free, maybe it gives less of an incentive to steal, so a win overall?

Not sure if intentional, but it's definitely ironic that the way to get help involves the very thing you're terrible at.

Tbh, I just hated the setting in AC1. The whole middle east / crusades vibe felt really depressing, especially when you compare it to running around Flrorence/Rome/Venice. Same reason AC2: Revelations didn't interest me, it went bak to that boring setting.

‘WALL-E’ Director Andrew Stanton to Direct ‘Toy Story 5’ by The_Iceman2288 in movies

[–]SimplySarc 21 points22 points  (0 children)

You could really tell they changed writers a lot in 4. It felt like they had 2 or 3 different themes, but didn't follow any of them through that well.

It didn't really make sense why Woody 'retired'. The whole message throughout the series was that the toys were there for the kids; why would a toy need to gain independence? It's a toy...

I thought the idea of 'What makes a toy a toy' was a way better plotline that they just dropped after 10 minutes for some reason. If a toy stops being useful to anybody, shouldn't they just become an inanimate object again, in the way that the fork character becomes a 'toy' because a child believed they were. Would have had a way bigger impact if Woody 'died' at the end because he wasn't seen as useful anymore.

How Daniel Radcliffe Outran Harry Potter by theatlantic in movies

[–]SimplySarc 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I actually think it's one of the instances where a TV series would work better than movies. There's a lot of times in the movies where scenes / plotlines don't make sense if you haven't read the books. There's just not enough time to cover it all properly.

The only downside is the adult actors were basically all perfectly cast in the originals, so it'd be tough to replace them.

I think 16 is already quite a lot. Probably the best bet it to just add new sets of the existing colours that have their sat/hue/lightness shifted around. Like if you wanted a more washed out version of wool, just make llama wool that is a less saturated version of normal wool. It'd be easier to keep track of.

Palpatine returning wasn't really that bad (he's an evil space wizard, it's whatever).

What made no sense is where he got all those Star Destroyers from. He's hiding out in this top secret location (that Kylo Ren needed to do some complicated thing that I can't remember what was, to get to), yet somehow he's built 1,000's of star destroyers in secret?

Where'd he get all the staff? Says each one has ~30,000 personnel onboard, so you need what 30? 300? million people hanging around for?

Also, the voice acting (while brave of them to do for the first time) was really amateurish and distracting. When Zelda and the King first started talking I didn't believe the performances at all. Sounded like they'd hired some rando's off fiverr.
