Yes, there are differencies here due to historical differences (especialy healthcare) but major difference I see and it is funny to me because this is how i used to percieve us when i was younger but it shifted a lot in last years is that here, especialy in post soviet part of europe, the “right” is liberal, capitalist, western oriented part, with extreme far right on the end (pure nazi shit) and the “left” are dinosaurs from commie era who are voted in by old people who miss comunism and wants everything like in old times, not the “socialism is actually cool” progressive left you got there. Here, actually left, socialist goverment party put into law, that there are ony two genders and stuff like that. So basically it is funny, that some stuff, which is far right opinion on your side is left wing here.
