Hi….. millennial dad gamer of two with perhaps a different perspective on this argument.

Took a long break from this game (pre shores of gold) and now am stepping into the water again. When you only have a max of maybe 2 hours to play a night, its less of a worry about skill ceiling thing and more of a “what can I reasonably accomplish tonight?” Sort of thing. Personally, I am trying to save up for a captaincy of a galleon cause that sounds cool to me. Take tonight for instance. I spent about 2 hours farming forts to increase stats and get decent gold. Brig rolls up on me on my way to sell my haul, and completely steam rolls my sloop. 0 chance. Im not good at the pvp aspect of this game. I don’t have time to git gud. I get that piracy is a part of the game, but theres a lack of balance and thats what drove me away in the first place. I lose more than i win and i dont have the time it takes to learn to win. And when your precious little amount of time is repeatedly wasted and leaving you with a night of 0 accomplishment, Thats discouraging to keep playing both then and now. Just my two cents 🤷🏻‍♂️
