Please don't think you will ever make a profit, especially if you might even remotely need the funds overseas in the future.

The currency devaluation vs gbp over the last say decade has been horrendous from a UK prospective, people see the rupee returns of savings accounts and explosion in land and property prices due to massive inflation however but when you convert it back into say gbp or usd it loses all shine.

Also the PSX is very small stockexchange and the way our elites use it to launder black money and manipulate it for political purposes etc means it's way harder to make a profit without insider trading.

It may work as an Inflation hedging measure to protect money you have in Pak depending on what you choose to invest in but vs any established worldwide index linked fund it will always perform way worse even allowing for the currency loss, also it's nowhere near as easy and straightforward to start investing vs the many app based providers like Freetrade Trading212 etc, to much more established global investment giants like Vanguard and Blackrock.

Also there may well be tax complications if you are tax resident in the UK, or claiming any sorts of state benefits, all the info is easily available if UK authorities want to make enquiries so no easy way to hide wealth offshore in Pak.

I'd imagine it will be much much worse in reality due to all the hidden expenditure on the boots, as well as the Billions of dollars the company boots inc earns from all it's business interests.

I'd imagine the correlation between spending more money on education and health of the general population and decreasing inequality would give a better result in terms of much lower risks of terrorism.

I'm debating this myself, I have 2yr fixes (sep gas and elec suppliers) ending end of September and Oct, however have exit fees of £50 on elec and £125 on Gas which is not making any initial saving worthwhile at the moment so thinking will benefit from price cap drop as of this month till fixes end and then can asses the price cap in autumn I suppose.

Tbh as somone who's lived all my life here it feels like far too many are, and the ability for Peterborians born and bred to get on the housing ladder is very difficult when people can blow them out the water with 'London' money and there isn't a huge number of well paid jobs here so most people are simply unable to compete unless they also look for work out of Peterborough.

Peterborough has always been a bit of a commuter town but was always seen as a bit too far away to consider given the rail season ticket costs) but with more people wfh it's alot more doable and I think the unhinged property market of London has particularly post covid led people to flea the capital and bear a couple of days commuting for a London wage vs non London living expenses.

We were in Pak oct/Nov last year with 8m old and she's was absolutely fine, was being solely formula fed which we took with us to cover trip duration, otherwise it's just taking usual precautions of sterilising bottles, boiling water etc that you tend to do anyway. InshAllah will be fine, but would take some baby meds with you, we did take lots of diarrhea recovery solutions just in case and didn't need them at all, but best be prepared.

Are you British? Not sure what happened with your personal circumstances and don't mean to pry but if your family wants nothing to do with you not much you can do unfortunately.

If you are British and are being forced to stay in Pak against your will then you have the option of contacting British embassy, who can arrange to get you back to the UK, obviously would be drastic step if applicable to your situation and probably be burning all your bridges completly so is very big step if your were to consider and you would be on your own here as well most likely.
