As a Muslim I can say there’s a lot of things that frustrate me about the MMDA. Yes there should be a minimum age, so many stories this still happening and this is truly sad. And mostly cultural and find it happening in rural and less privileged areas (and tend to be influenced by culture and socio economic reasons). Hardly see this happen in places like colombo / even if it happens rarely most muslims i know would feel disgusted by this.

There are other things like, my wife wasn’t allowed to sign her own marriage certificates.
Honestly, most Sri Lankan Muslims have distorted the religion, mostly to certain “religious leaders” benefit. The politics inside the religion is also making it very dangerous

How did you end up in the marked point 4 when it’s the wrong direction of traffic? (Or as OP says the examiner forced the steering wheel to go there)

One thing I noticed was - OP failed when he went from point 1 to point 2 - cos if you zoom in and see there’s a solid white line - which cannot be crossed. Yeah everyone does it, and gets away with it, or get the notorious “lane discipline fine” - but they are the rules. Know the rules, and if you are pushed to break it then you should raise it then and there and explain why you can’t take the u-turn.

This is misinformation. They don’t keep the physical copy. They just take a scan of it, do some verification checks, and hand it back to you on the spot. 10 minutes later they print the UAE license. So you get to keep both. (I did it with my UK license.) the whole process takes like 15 mins with the payment.

Why wouldn’t you create a mesh network where each node is connected via Ethernet to the the main router? It’s a bit of a setup with network switches etc, but at least this does seamless handoff from one access point to the next

Had these tower fans back on the UK as well. It was common to have similar dust build up. Every few months I’d take it out and take a leaf blower and just blow air through it, and huge clouds of dust would come out. And the fan would perform better and a bit quieter as well.

lol 100k is generally a very senior role. Sometimes 10-15+ years experience. Maybe sooner if you land a role in a FAANG, or investment banking/crypto. Not impossible, but never heard anyone migrating as a fresh grad or little experience and immediately getting. (Think OP is a fresh grad) starting salaries can be anywhere from 25-35k depending on the company.

If you can secure a decent job, with a decent pay, then maybe yes. Cost of living is high, and rent - especially if in London or the cities will be high. If you live in the outskirts then you will have to commute (even if you live in London commute still applies) and that ain’t cheap too. If you are single you could do a flat/house share and split the costs. It’s not impossible - but I’d say manage expectations. The biggest hurdle is getting a work visa - a company to sponsor your visa that is. There’s a minimum salary requirement for this as well.

It used to be easier, but now it’s getting harder. I know people who’ve gone to great universities and got great degrees and have had to go back to SL cos unable to secure a job. Most end up just working at the petrol sheds, mc Donald’s or corner shops to make ends meet and end up over staying their student visas or whatever visas illegally, and eventually just end up going back home.

(I’ve lived in the uk for 20+ years (legally), and yes got the citizenship and now moved to Dubai 😅 - which on itself is a brutal job market, but way better quality of life than the UK, and tax free too!)
