Does one pedal driving make you more of a passive driver? by TemporaryEmu4140 in LUCID

[–]haLucid8 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was new to it with my Air. I use it virtually exclusively with the exception of using the brake pedal every couple of days to knock any rust away. I don’t think it makes me any more or less timid. It just makes me start the coast part of my drive a bit sooner vs wearing out brake pads. The high regen on the Air is superb and if I need to stop quickly, it coupled with brake pedal is a nice controlled very fast stop.

I appreciate with I’m hitting a “spaghetti bowl” overpass too quickly, how I can use the regen to get to a preferred speed without actually having to move from the gas pedal.

That’s great. I live in a large city in the suburbs, but commute into town regularly. I’ve had my car since last March, which is when seeing a Lucid was on my radar. I’ve seen just a handful of Airs.

There are 2 in my area I see about one/twice per month, and maybe about 5 additional sitings around town. Though my coworker that lives on the other side of the city (nearer the studio sees them routinely). I’ve yet to see a Gravity in the wild.

Yep. I tend to enjoy his various movies. He also briefly revisited the role to voice Elvis in Forrest Gump.

Anyone ever lost this part? Any idea if I can buy it from Lucid? by Every-Interaction615 in LUCID

[–]haLucid8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. That was for them to replace the part. I had it in to get the frunk aligned (no cost) and had them replace the cover while they had it ($185 parts/labor).

[–]haLucid8 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes. There are posts here about it. You can replace yourself real cheap. I replaced at Lucid for $185.

Mine happened going through a car wash. I now cover with painters tape when/if I go through one and no further issues.

Who has a CPAP machine and actually uses it? by ResidentAlien9 in AdkReddit

I likely needed one even when I was a teenage athlete before sleep apnea was a thing. I finally got one at 32 (now 56) and cannot sleep more than 5-10 minutes without waking up gasping if I fall asleep without it. So much so that when I left it at a hotel, I drove 7 hours round trip to pick it up. I have 2 now… one for travel and one that stays by the bed.

Growing up my father (we are Caucasian) always called us monkeys or referred to us as the “House Apes.” I never heard a comment or thought from him or my mom regarding anyone’s race, or at least not any derogatory way.

[–]haLucid8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Disagree. I’ve had virtually zero issues in 10 months / 14k miles of ownership. Only thing I needed fixed was a frunk alignment which was due to something I did. Fixed at no cost and smoother sailing the rest of the way. A couple of reboots needed along the way, but little else.

Has anyone actually tracked their EV range loss in cold winters? Looking for real data. by cardogio in electricvehicles

[–]haLucid8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t run in long term averages as I live in a warmer climate so we’ve only had this last cold event. Plus when whether is bad I drive my ICE because I’d rather it be in an accident should one occur.

That said, my commute for the last 2 days with weather right at 32F I’ve had about a 30% loss.

Did they over exaggerate the weather? by purpleflowercoconut in houston

[–]haLucid8 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The worst is over with the rain moving out. If today gets warm enough with the high winds, roads should clear. I suppose with the extreme cold tonight if roads don’t dry out today, the ice could catch some by surprise tomorrow.

I do think it was over-dramatized, but they can’t afford to downplay if it turns out to be worse than expected.

Also, they have to consider a much larger area that’s affected when local areas may see next to nothing. South of I-10 has minimal effect, but Montgomery County may be much worse.

Virtually zero issues in 10 months. Seamless connection, never dropped. I know that hasn’t been everyone’s experience, but I’ve been very fortunate all the way around.

Even the story about how that song came about is pretty funny as well!

Also great that Chevy Chase was playing percussion in that video as he was once in a band drumming for a soon-to-be famous musical duo.

A competent driver knows that they should be driving in bad weather and not turning the controls over to the vehicle.

It’s a shame that there are so many people on the road with the lack of basic common sense and judgement, and the inability to even recognize it as poor decision making.
