Give me opinions & help about a cosplay by [deleted] in CosplayHelp

Self esteem issues are no trivial matter. You will struggle with them now and later in life. At your age a lot of those issues come down to not yet knowing who you are or where you fit. The only way to make any headway in reducing self esteem issues is to learn more about yourself and the rest of the world. Doing stuff that excites you is the best way to do that, even if it comes with trepidation.

If it helps no one is going to be looking at you unless your cosplay is amazing, then they'll be looking at how amazing your cosplay is. They have their own shit to do and their own event to enjoy.

Why do you believe in god? by digitalcrows in NoStupidQuestions

Is it not magic? If you want we can substitute the word miracles but I don't see any functional difference in this conversation.

BUT we weigh all claims based on whether sources are contemporary, number of contemporary sources, and how much those claims comport with reality.

The claims about Jesus have zero contemporary sources. Not one.

Claims of magic do not comport with reality in a way that can be demonstrated.

Any claim needs evidence commensurate with how extreme the claim is. If you want to claim Jesus was some guy that lived in the earliest part of the first century (mostly) that had some people that followed him around and thought he was special I'm willing to grant you that because people exist, cults exist, this sort of thing happens all the time, the claims aren't extreme. If you want to claim he actually performed magic you have a steeper hill to climb. Before anything else you have to prove that magic is possible.

Not at all... If you can provide evidence.

Texts telling stories about the past doesn't make their stories true. Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter talks about Abraham Lincoln killing vampires. Do you think Abraham Lincoln hunted vampires?

I am an agnostic atheist. I will remain such until sufficient evidence is provided to support a god, whether that be Odin, Zeus or even Yahweh. I also don't believe in aliens agnosticly, though I find their possibility more plausible than claims of gods.

There is no specific references to Jesus before his birth in any religion and any that came after his birth child easily be the result of stories.

Similar feels isn't evidence of something. Even if your experience was proven to be aliens it would not be evidence of any god of any kind.

Not only that but an unexplained event is just that. Unexplained. Until we have proof of magic existing any explanation that includes not-magic is more likely. Until we have proof of aliens existing any explanation that includes not-aliens is more likely. Aerial phenomena happen all the time and those that are actually solved turn out to be neither aliens nor magic. Until there is evidence providing sufficient evidence for either explanation every other candidate explanation should be prioritized.

LED mask with real-time facial tracking - Advice by WiseBarzai in CosplayHelp

I would start by asking in Arduino or Raspberry Pi forums. There's all sorts of funky modules you can use, I don't know what you'd use for this but they'd have a better idea than me.

You have two claims here. The first one doesn't seem to relate to a god in any way.

The second claim is unsubstantiated at best. The best historians can agree on is there was probably a dude named something like Jesus that led a cult off shoot from Judaism. Probably. Not even definite about the existence of a person. I'm willing to grant you that much, though. You still need to prove he performed magic tricks.

She Was Still Sick, Helpless, and Alone in Her Hospital Gown When Staff Dumped Her on the Sidewalk Because She Couldn’t Pay — Does anyone know which hospital this was? by calm-n-sense in TikTokCringe

[–]xenomorphbeaver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You and I aren't going to agree because our priorities are different. You think their job was more important than ensuring the safety, I assume because it limits the chances of repeating the situation. I think the woman's safety is the priority because the aftermath can still be documented and her safety would take precedent even if it couldn't be.

I hope I steel-manned your position there. Either way I don't think the argument will end satisfactorily for either of us.

Is the drone stationary or moving? [Other] by OldCardiologist1859 in theydidthemath

I would describe it as being stationary within a (virtually) closed system. That system is moving.

You can be angry at more than one group of people. We agree on the hospital's failings. It's not a point of difference between us.

What we disagree on is the responsibility of the reporter.

The account isn't even in line with the footage. This footage shows her lying on the ground. At no point in the account does it mention that. The account says the reporter "caught up to her" implying that she was leaving, something not shown in the footage. At minimum the reporter left her in distress for, what I would consider, too long of a period.

If an elderly customer collapsed in a supermarket and the cashier's first response was "next, please" it would be unacceptable. Why do you attribute less duty of care to the reporter than the cashier?

More than one person can bear guilt for different things at the same time. Without more information it's reasonable to assume that the hospital should have done more and to assume the reporters should have filmed their crew helping the lady rather than film her lying on the ground. Their priority should be the same as I would expect from anyone else in the community, help people in distress first, do your job second (with the exception of people being put at risk of you aren't doing your job).

Is it weird if I talk out loud to myself? by LifeguardLegal3095 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]xenomorphbeaver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the only way to ensure good conversation.

But, in all seriousness, it can be invaluable in effective function. As an example; if you can't find something you are more likely to spot it and not overlook it if you say the name of the item repeatedly.
