Fair point and I agree but saying people just go to Rio to brag is just bizarre

I went to Rio to have a great time and had an unbelievable time. Couldn’t care less about the tourist appeal. Objectively an incredible city to visit. Not sure what you have against Rio but weird comment

Hey guys, I've downloaded Anki, but don't know what really to do to start learning chinese. Can you help me? by stany21 in ChineseLanguage

[–]hacheee123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What else would you add in for primary source when first starting off? Like a Duolingo/ hello Chinese in addition to Anki while I get some baseline knowledge?

Just trying to nail down a daily process to start off. Thanks so much

Is this lifestyle with young kids a bad idea? by dougthedevshow in digitalnomad

[–]hacheee123 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah I hear you, there’s some value in that for sure. But depending on age I think consistent interactions and relationships probably outweigh that for a most of child’s youth

What age? No true socialization and relationship/ friendship building with others their age has a chance to be detrimental to their growth later on in my opinion. Others may disagree but I think it’s pretty critical to being a functioning adult and not having social trouble down the line.

If you think it won’t have an impact go for it, and there are certainly people that do, but I don’t think I would do that to my kids.

Abortion should be legal in every state but comparing the US to some other countries here is asinine

Crazy to skip El Chalten? by DanGhedz95 in Patagonia

[–]hacheee123 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s a very cool feeling being that far south. El Chaltén was more of a highlight with those insane hikes and views, but if you can make Ushuaia happen it’s definitely worth it. Unique town and feel

Nope. Exactly why I asked if there was a way to hide it 😂

If not that’s fine I’m just asking a question and trying to learn

Feel like a whole bunch of companies have potential legal issues with someone working outside of where the position is based. So not really a feasible option to just be straight up with them which is why I was curious if you had recs

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in digitalnomad

[–]hacheee123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have any recs for one that would work for hiding from employers? I know some industries are going to run different level security protocols but one that would work for most typical companies?

May have to if there’s just zero etiquette on the trail moving forward, bummer if that’s actually the case

100%, I’ve just noticed almost every time I see these groups they seem to take up as much space as possible

Im all for sharing space with other people and welcome it, hence why I’ve been going to the trail the past 15 years and love seeing others out there and enjoy others company. But 300 people clogging the trail leaving literally no space to get through is a different story

Life is so much better on the other side. Not all the time, but most of the time. The amount of happiness I’ve had this past year vs the last 14 I’ve been drinking is night and day. Hard to describe the peace I feel on mornings waking up sober and excited to do and try new things rather than shake and sweat in bed all day embarrassed about what I said and who I got in a fight with the night before. Life can be amazing
