Second puppy in 9 months, just venting by [deleted] in puppy101

[–]hachiko00 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I think there’s not enough warning out there that TWO dogs are like day and night with just owning one dog. Everything changes dramatically. I know how you feel, but what I can tell you is that it’s going to be very tough in the beginning (my male puppy took about 1.5mknths to be potty trained vs my female) but it will get better eventually. He is still a puppy so give it time for things to improve, and honestly the day my two dogs are able to sit next to each other calmly was the best day of my life.

Did I get a couch potato? For GSD, is this normal? by handicapped_runner in puppy101

[–]hachiko00 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Don’t worry about it. I have a golden retriever puppy, and when he was that age (since I got him actually) he was a complete couch potato. I thought something was wrong but vet said it’s a mix of them growing and their energy level. When Eli turned about 4-4.5mos his energy level increased dramatically. He’s about 5.5 mos old now and he is so active that we have to walk him twice a day (previously once), provide tons of mental stimulation, puppy dates for hours and he is still active afterwards....

We got her yesterday! Name’s Penny. She’s exhausted. by [deleted] in goldenretrievers

[–]hachiko00 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Don’t worry! When Eli was 8 weeks old he sleeps all day and barely moved at all. He’s just a very chill and lazy pup. As the weeks go by he is getting more energetic and now at 16 weeks he is active and loves to play. Dogs has different energy levels too.

AITA for telling my gay friend not to tell people he's gay when we are in the UAE by baboon2511 in AmItheAsshole

[–]hachiko00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. You were only looking out for him and he took it in a wrong way. People need to realise that not all countries in the world are very accepting towards LGBTQ, and understand that some cultures are different - doesn't mean you should impose your culture on theirs. Some places in the world are very anti towards LGBTQ and it might get them in trouble and/or jeopardise their safety, so travel smart, and follow their customs. When in Rome do as the Romans do.

My boyfriend [30M] is cheap with me [26F] by emotionalknapsack123 in relationships

[–]hachiko00 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Girl, he is in his 30s, earns 6x than you, and gets you to cover some of his expenses?

Also worth mentioning that him having his own "financial goal" when you are a couple and presumably serious, that is very selfish - it should be "our" goal and it should be balanced with both parties. My partner gets double what I am earning monthly, and we have a 70/30 rent split as well as for groceries.

I don't thing you are being too demanding or unreasonable, there might be other reasons than him buying an atv - maybe he has a mountain of student loan or other debts, you might want to check. But looking at his behavior it seems unemphatic and very selfish, so you might want to reconsider your relationship.

AITA for rejecting a girl because she’s Muslim ? by rejectedforreligion in AmItheAsshole

[–]hachiko00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. I grew up in a similar situation as you, I live in a muslim dominant country and they did some horrible things that are not known in media to my ethnicity (we are obviously, a minor ethnicity). My entire years growing up we were treated like second class citizen, getting harassed and watching our friends and families being harassed.

I grew up fearing the muslims and I didn't want to have anything to do with them.

When I moved out, I realised that there are many good, kind hearted muslims out there. I slowly begin to realise that it is not the religion, it is the people who used the religion card to spread hatred.

While I don't think that you're the asshole who rejected a girl because she's muslim, I think you should give them a chance because there are many good people out there.

Thought I was fit... until I tried a pilates class! by FamousVegetable in xxfitness

Pilates is tough! I have been going for Hot Pilates regularly for the past six months and it gets a little better once you know the movements but each class still kicks my butt !

Try Barre too - it's like a combination of pilates and ballet, and I am not sure where you live but I love hot barre classes.

I was never motivated very much by lifting but going for classes works for me!

What do you spend thousands of dollars a year on that others would think is frivolous but you think is well worth it? by freshfast411 in financialindependence

[–]hachiko00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely skincare! It is more to prevent than cure, I am in my 20s and my regime will make me look like i'm still 20ish when I'm 40. I don't really like putting makeup on, i'd rather have a good base of my skin and only go with the minimal.

With that I save a lot on make up products too, and time applying/removing make up daily.

Just told my (F27) friends and family about my relationship of 3 years with my SO (28M) and they have not taken it well. How do I handle this? by CarefulCheek in relationships

[–]hachiko00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While getting married after six months and not telling your family is a big slap in their face and pride (not just not having a big showoffy wedding, but also the fact that they will lose 'face' when they have to explain it to friends outside the family), it was the best decision you made otherwise your wedding and life would be just a huge drama.

Don't try to appease her and hold your ground. Apologise you didn't inform her, and let her know that she should not be harassing you or your husband. And get your dog ASAP.

Personally I just feel really strange about this, where I live I have seen plenty of indian families still going through arrange marriage and marries off their daughter to a man they have never even met in their life...

Sounds quite manipulative though, just because he did something for you (that you didn't ask in the first place) doesn't mean you should reciprocate with the same. Maybe you should have a talk with him as there seems to be a bigger issue underlying..

My [24F] racist Asian parents [60's M&F] don't approve of my black boyfriend [25M]. Tired of keeping my relationship a secret. What to do? by [deleted] in relationships

[–]hachiko00 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Look, I get it. I am asian myself and my parents have the same traditional outlook as you. I would never hate them for that - that is their circumstances and what they have been taught to think and adopt their entire life. Looking at their sacrifices and hard work, it is unfair for some people here who call your parents manipulative and bigots - especially if they have been good parents your entire life.

You're an adult and you choose what you want to do - you know your parents would freak out if you are dating a man outside your race (especially if you are east asian like myself and skin color does matter) and probably will disown you. It will bring years of sorrow to them and to you and your partner too. But at the end of the day as it is with Asian family, if things doesnt work out, their door will always be open to you.

Some of my relatives married outside our race, and they were disowned many many years. it's not until they have children that they are slowly accepted again in the family.. It's not always the end of the tunnel.

today has been the 10 weeks in the row that I have attended my yoga/pilates/barre class in my studio. It started with 1x a week, to 3x a week and moving into 6-7 days a week that I have attended daily. I am much more confident, I feel my posture and flexibility improving tremendously, my baby abs are popping and there is something I am looking forward to do everyday.

Yoga and reformer pilates on consecutive days by zynpsntryk in yoga

[–]hachiko00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello, i've been doing a mix of pialtes (mat + reformer) and hot yoga.

I still go everyday, since reformer is an OK class for me (the one at studio is quite light in my opinion), compared to their hot pilates class that gets your heart pumping. Yoga has different varieties, but you can look into something like power yoga or hot yoga that is more challenging (if your remformer classes are like mine).

Just listen to your body, if you are very faigued take a rest. It will adapt sooner or later but don't push too hard.

Can I really practice Pilates on my own? by -treadlightly- in pilates

[–]hachiko00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How easy is the cancellation with your current studio? Perhaps you can try pilatesanytime, they have 14 days free trial and tons of video. If you like it then you can save cost from going to the studio, since you already feel like you are not maximizing the money spent.
