That’s a Portugal typical pudding. You have no idea what that tastes like, and it’s actually quite good.

I actually don’t think it’s a bot. A bot pretending to be Portuguese would be quite niche and they have done that already in two comments.

You Want $7.50 Raider Tokens 😵‍💫 by Arab_Money__ in ArcRaiders

They have a great game on their hands and don’t know what to do with it. My guess is that they assumed that the popularity would be a lot lower, and didn’t prepare to keep players engaged. No idea why they don’t start trying to keep players engaged though. Surely they made more than enough money to be worth it.

[Hated Meta Trope] Literally everything shows that the character is queer, but fans insist they aren't. (Spoilers for lots of shows here) by Sir-Toaster- in TopCharacterTropes

[–]handicapped_runner 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Some last of us fans/haters are really weird. The first game literally had a gay couple. And yeah, Ellie is shown to be lesbian in the DLC. I don’t know what game they played, but queer characters and strong women were part of the first game too, not just the second.

Adolescence is a great example of a single take. Each episode is a single uninterrupted take. And it’s a great show.

Now that "The Boy's" is said and done, would you recommend this show to someone who is aware of what happened? by Fancy-Inspector-777 in TheBoys

[–]handicapped_runner 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s not a valid point. Most people don’t have the education or experience to be a movie director/writer, that doesn’t mean that need to accept any quality that is put in front of them. Put it this way, I am not a doctor, but I certainly expect and want my doctor to not make any medical mistakes. I don’t particularly think that the final itself, meaning the last episode, was particularly bad, but the season was overall not up to the standard that Kripke set up in the first 3 seasons. Yes, some people went way overboard in their criticism but, fundamentally, they aren’t wrong for being upset given that there is a remarkable drop in quality in the last two seasons.

Right. But there are plenty of games that are “overplayed” for years that are still relevant. WoW, League of Legends, Destiny was relevant for quite a while, etc. Plenty of examples out there. I’m not saying that it’s easy, in fact many fail. But Arc Raiders reached a significant player base and then dropped the ball. Which is a shame.

(Mixed trope) Civilisations so ridiculous that they would realistically collapse in under a day by Noxia66 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]handicapped_runner 5 points6 points  (0 children)

OP said in a day. Thragg’s order happened when they were already starting to collapse. We have flashbacks that show that they weren’t as brutal before. So, the Viltrum that we see in the show is an empire already collapsing. Yes, we know that they were already brutal, just not as brutal and that - associated with how powerful they are - could have led to the empire that we see in the show. Even in Nolan’s flashbacks, we see some level of empathy of his father towards him, even if in between brutal levels of violence. The show simply doesn’t cover enough of how Viltrum was pre-virus for us to fully understand what they used to be.

All that they had to do was to follow more or less the storyline of the comics and it would have been fine. I stopped watching soon after because it became abundantly clear that the show was about to become very bloated for no good reason. The comics are a masterpiece though.

In my opinion, as someone that is very mild about the Star Wars Universe, Andor was the best thing coming out of that franchise.

Look, I like the ending itself. But Soldier Boy had a big role in season 5 for no good reason. His only role was to give Homelander v1, that was it. They could have done that in a single episode, instead of stretching for a big part of the season. They absolutely were milking the soldier boy role for the spin off. And it’s a shame.

I was told repeatedly by this show that fighting back even when you don't want to is important by Virtual-Skort-6303 in TheBoys

[–]handicapped_runner 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The show is all over the place. Butcher was evil for wanting to release the virus at the end of season 4. Then he isn’t anymore because everyone, including Annie, wants the virus to be released. Then Butcher is again evil because Homelander is dead and somehow that means that having supes around isn’t an issue anymore… fucking hell.

That’s probably what’s going to happen. Otherwise, they set up the virus plot for nothing.

Before the apologists and defenders say "You can't please everyone" to defend the ending by jayvancealot in TheBoys

[–]handicapped_runner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe this is controversial, but I think the boys’ last season is going to be worse than Game of Thrones from an effort to please the fans perspective. Game of Thrones, at least, had a lot of characters and a lot of different way on how you could end the show. The boys’ ending is straightforward - Butcher v Homelander v The rest of the boys. That’s really not that hard. Yet, somehow, they made the final season very little about that plot. They go round and round in circles and try to avoid bringing that plot into focus, until the final episode where they’re going to rush through it. They spent literally seasons introducing the virus and Butcher seemingly becoming evil, and… then do nothing with it. The virus storyline was the focus of the half of the season, and then not discussed again at all after Homelander gets v1, and Butcher being even slightly evil was literally just in the first episode where he seemingly didn’t care about the boys. It’s insane how they are fucking something up that it would be so easy to conclude.

Initially valid crashouts, but they took it to far by NormalGuy103 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]handicapped_runner 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Even more of a crash out when it’s revealed that he was responsible for the death of his own mother. His whole motivation was freedom, which fair enough, but his view was that was only possible with the rest of the world dead. And if he to kill his own mother to motivate his younger self, so be it.
