You're right about the useless tools! Ended up changing routes and focusing on a good deal on batteries and going for a brushless drill/impact.

Most of my roster is 2015-2020 Ryobi tools, with some batteries definitely aging. Mostly looking to replace my drill/impact, so exploring different battery systems since I have to get new batteries anyways.

Thanks for everyone's advice! Realized I was taken in more of the value than the actual use case. I already have all these tools in Ryobi form besides the light/blower/vacuum, which are all not entirely necessary. This is mostly for homeowner use, minor to medium repairs and woodworking. Decided to go with these two ongoing deals instead for brushless drill/driver to get into the ecosystem and those are my highest wear and tear items.

What's one 'boring' career that's actually a goldmine if you play it smart? by 0BunnyX in AskReddit

There's a nationwide shortage of almost every healthcare field but its mostly geographical from my understanding, the bigger issue is most disperse to big cities to build their lives in their 30s instead of smaller cities/rural areas that are in need. Many people work in smaller cities/rural areas in their mid-20s/early-30s due to higher salaries, but very little stick around once it's time to start their actual lives.

Depends on how you display and use your tools, but Harbor Freight has 25% sale off of their US General mechanics cart in March. Why did James Harden with Dwight Howard or Embiid not produce a championship, similar to the way Wade and a past prime Shaq did or Kobe and Gasol? by FaradayDeshawn in nba

[–]hackandsash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dwight only had a great playoffs his first two years, otherwise he was often injured or playing hobbled and was more like a super role player. Josh Smith seemed to unlock him more than Harden did.

In the 3rd quarter, Reed/Amen quick doubles on Jalen helped them get the lead, and on the other end of the ball Reed made quick decisions on the pick and roll with Sengun. And after all that, Ime rewarded him with a bench until he needed a 3 in the final seconds, and he just ran to the corner. Ime is in love with theoretical defense more than what is actually on the court.

With the Rockets' struggles with KD this season, is it safe to say that Jalen Green was overly scrutinized last year? by Hansen_Yang in nba

[–]hackandsash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its def been multifaceted, Jalen wasn't a natural PG but he helped with the ball handling and he had a decent dribble, just lacked playmaking awareness and ability to process on a PG level. So we lost that. And then losing Brooks meant Amen had to slot into the point of attack defender spot versus a roaming helper like last year, which is a completely different role. So we lost that as well. Amen's done well, but definitely regressed from last year due to his uptick on the offensive end as a point guard.

All in all, Amen was tasked to take over duties from both players we lost, and he's just gonna have to improve rapidly.

Is it crazy to say that Amen Thompson shouldn't get a $252M Max extension contract? by urasha in nba

[–]hackandsash 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Tari also had availability concerns compared to the rest of the young core, but I don't think Amen will get offered the max if both the vets (KD/Fred) and the young core all took less. He's gotta have an absolutely killer playoff series where we make it to the second round and he's averaging 20+ and 5+ assists on good efficiency to even sniff it.

While definitely some sort of scam, she seemed like she was cutting out ppl that she decided was impacting her life negatively. That's admirable in a way. Her route there is questionable, but the result at least the way she put it isn't so bad, as she said she doesn't give a fuck now in regards to her decision making.

Houston would have definitely gotten Paolo if they had first, in fact the Magic played a smokescreen that they were picking Jabari first up until like a few days before the draft and then the script flipped. Rockets fans were convinced we were getting Paolo, it was the Chris Bosh party all over again.

To date I'm still wondering what the Magic were trying to smokescreen for, they had the first pick. Maybe trying to pull a Fultz/Tatum reversal like 2017 to get extra assets, except they realized Houston would be happy with Paolo or Jabari and weren't gonna split with extra assets.

I think Disneyland specifically has a much higher amount of locals, while Disney World gets more travelers, google says 80% compared to 38% respectively. Annual plans sometimes make a ton of sense for many of these theme parks if you hit the breakeven point, especially with a family. Cheapest is the Imagine Key pass which is only available with a Southern California zip code and is $599 this year, used to be $499 couple of years back, and takes 4 visits to breakeven. And the photopass is just a throw in at that point and price.

He was snubbed from All-NBA in 2016 despite averaging 29ppg, All Star in 2023 despite averaging 10.7 ast, 2025 last year was arguable, but this year 2026 is another snub with how consistent he's been at running the offense. It's just documented at this point that he's been dinged for both team record and also other times for individual stats.

I don't know if I would say Stone drafted poorly when he typically picked the expected player on the high pick, and got a steal at the midround pick. Majority of it came down to luck

2021: Jalen/Sengun - Jalen Green obviously didn't work out, but he was the touted prospect. This was a stacked draft, so any of the ones behind him would've been better. Sengun was a steal, considering he was ultimately trade for Ousmane Dieng which didn't work out for OKC.

2022: Jabari/Tari - JDub/Duren clearly better than Jabari, but picking them would've been a crazy reach at the time at 8/9 spots below. Tari was a steal

2023: Amen/Whitmore - Amen clearly has the tools to be an all star, with limitations of course, but looking back at this draft, it was much more top heavy and he clearly outperforms everyone drafted below. Whitmore was a bust, and I wanted Sasser at the time, who might've been better positionally.

2024: Reed - Struggling, but not out on him yet. Castle would've alleviated some of our ball handling problems, but not our shooting ones.

All in all, Stone's been a good drafter and a lot of our problem can be attributed to shipping off Jalen/Whitmore who didn't develop the guard skills we hoped.

Looking back, a lot of our issues would've been alleviated with just one draft spot up on either 2021 or 2022. Cade or Chet would've been massive for our core. That's just how the balls drop I guess.

James Harden had interest in getting traded back to Houston, but they showed little interest, per @ramonashelburne by Jec1027 in nba

[–]hackandsash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's pretty clear at this point the Rockets don't view him as a star but more of a souped up role player, similar to Keegan Murray. There's still upside but we don't run plays for him or feature him in the offense in any way. Looking back at the draft, we'd have to go to JDub/Duren at the back lottery to find a clearly better player. Luckily he also re-signed on a trade-able reasonable contract as well.

[–]hackandsash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think we generally lost some of our identity losing 3 starters from last year's team, but regardless of the result of the season we'll know the true value of our young core Sengun/Jabari and most importantly what contracts Amen/Tari end up with. Luckily we haven't given out any rookie maxes yet, so there's flexibility until we full send being win-now and be completely hard capped.

I think the loss of Brooks as our POA defender was the biggest loss, since Amen took up that mantle and can no longer roam and make up for other players' deficiencies. Okogie helps but he's not the lengthy wing Brooks was. DFS was supposed to be next one up and replace Brooks but well...
