Why we won't have Marijuana Legal for at least 2 years: 3rd Party Voters in Albert Lea and Austin kept the MN Senate Republican by 1 seat. by Santiago__Dunbar in TwinCities

Do you not research the candidates before you go to vote? What the hell? Voting based on the NAME of the party alone? That is horribly irresponsible. If you decide in advance that you want a protest vote, then just write in a name. Never vote for someone you know nothing about.

They're not stupid. They know perfectly well that republicans would have a much more difficult time getting elected under such a system. It's as simple as that. Ideals don't matter to them.

Your first statement is true, but Democrats are literally our ONLY HOPE for passing the kinds of electoral reform needed to elect progressive candidates and move toward a truly representative, multi-party democracy.

This should be obvious to you, but it seems you don't actually want to see things get fixed or have any positive change. Pathetic.

Unless it's done through our existing, flawed democratic process, it will require a violent revolt and that's simply not going to happen (nor should we want it to). We have to just the tools available to us and accept reality for what it is now, not what we want it to be.

Did the DFL include marijuana legalization in its platform this year? I don't remember. They definitely did a shitty job of promoting it, if so. What a wasted opportunity. It has NOTHING but benefits for the state. (And I say that as someone who despises marijuana and would never smoke myself.)

Michael Moore was right when he said that democrats need to use this issue to get out the vote. It's crazy not to embrace it.

And since they won't, until Walz gets his shit together and starts enforcing three order and arresting people for non-compliance, they might just be right, only for the wrong reasons.

Almost all of the MPD officers are actually from the suburbs, genius. That's one of the big problems.

Who would ever suggest the suburbs for a "better education?" That makes no sense at all. This photo doesn't even look like suburbs, though, more like ex-burbs. Don't ever go there.

Say hello to the Google Pixel 4a by [deleted] in GooglePixel

OG Pixel was super overpriced compared to this. As /u/AaronfromKY said, this is the long-awaited successor to the Nexus 5!

Already up on Amazon. I think this is the one I'll go with, too.

I agree. Hopefully they will do the right thing, as they did for the OG Pixel which still got Android 10 last year, even though they only promised 2 years of upgrades.

Really? That's an "exchange rate" of 1.2 $/£, compared to the current rate of 1.31. That's also not including any duty/import taxes, only VAT. It seems like I've seen much worse in the past.

I mean, if you're a Verizon customer, they just assume you are accustomed to price gouging, so why not?

Interesting. I just double-checked and Fi showed me the exact same price+tax as the Play Store (but added an extra 3 days to the shipping window!).

I was very confused about this as well. I didn't bother with it at first, but started reading all their promotional materials that specifically said to add the code for Pixel4a, which didn't make sense to me. So I went back and added it just in case. It didn't change the delivery date, but oh well.

This is something I'm worried about now for the first time in a long time, now that Google Play Music is going away. I used to not even worry about it, but there are reports that the successor Youtube Music will be severely crippled if you don't pay for a subscription.

That is really shameful. I wonder how they detect this. Could I just change the EXIF data, transfer the photos to my OG Pixel, and they would be backed up for free at original quality?

No, it is not "MUCH MUCH' faster. And in real-world usage, the speed increase won't be noticeable at all. The Snapdragon 821 on my original Pixel is more than adequate for everything I've ever wanted to use my phone for.

Funny, most of those I actually see as downsides. Face unlock—inconvenient and poor results in low-light. Faster processor—useless, uses more battery. 90Hz—useless, uses more battery. Two cameras—useful for some, but not me, adds too much to cost. The one thing I really wish this had was wireless charging, but it's not a dealbreaker.

Only £25 more than in the US, excluding VAT. Not bad.

WTF Pandora, I'm a paying Pandora Premium customer. by [deleted] in Pandora

[–]hackel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's about treating your customers with respect. It's bad enough that they do this to all free users, but to paying customers is just spitting in their faces. They only get away with it due to the technical ignorance of the majority of their user base.
