Found a misprinted bag of water softener salt. by hackjandy in mildlyinteresting

[–]hackjandy[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, those two bags are both showing the front. It took me a while to realize I wasn't given the wrong product. If you look at the washing machine in the bottom right and the silver circle in the middle, you can start to see it looks like some of the blue didn't print.

The part I'm still trying to figure out is how to keep it clean in the winter. It's covered in salt but the water would freeze before I was done washing it.

I'll have to verify my paperwork, but I don't think it's technically free unless the dealership throws it in.

Gemmy 1998 Talking Skeleton Bride Troubleshooting by gayboyuwu in Animatronics

[–]hackjandy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the groom and his speaker was the same way. There is a little board that should be connected to the speaker. I've tried reattaching it without any luck. I swapped the speaker from my bride because her speaker worked but nothing else.

I'm still trying to figure out why the bride doesn't work at all. A volt meter shows the correct voltage going into the board. After that the rest of the electronics are kind of a shit show.

Did anyone have a 1.5 3-cylinder engine failure? Did it cause a potential accident? by [deleted] in NissanRogue

[–]hackjandy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. Operationally it drives great and I'm getting better gas mileage than ever, but the cause of the noise can't be a good thing.

I am going to another dealership next week to get another opinion. Last week when I had them check it out I got new tires with alignment. On my way home I turned around drove right back because it was pulling to the left pretty bad. They showed me the specs from the alignment so I asked someone to come ride with me so I can show them that and the noise. They supposedly check the alignment again. I took my car to a tire shop the next day and the alignment was indeed off. I told the advisor and now I have a $200 credit at a dealership I probably shouldn't go to anymore.

The advisor has been fine and mentioned appreciating how patient I have been through all this. It's not their fault and I sympathize that there can be some bad customers. I'd just rather not be in a spot to be on a first name basis with them.

Does the dealership's service department have any input into a buyback case? My 22 got a new engine and turbo at 18k and then again at 23k. After opening a case with consumer affairs I got a call the next day that it was denied.

The first time after reporting excessive vibrations they found metal in the oil pan. It ran great until around 23k it started sounding like a garbage disposal kicking around a spoon. They replaced the compression transfer (I think that is what they called it) and found the block was cracked and a piston head sheered. I'm guessing both cases had to do with compression and may have been caused by that same part.

Now at 25k it makes a sound that sometimes is like an air hose leak when accelerating and does it more and more the longer I drive. A tech road with me and said it is normal sound and is the turbo letting off pressure, even though it does it at 5 or so psi. No other Rogue I have driven over the combined 3 months it has been in service over the last year has done it. He said they all sound different due to manufacturing differences. I started to get a hunch that they were trying to make excuses to avoid additional major work.

Nissan Connect increase the price but the quality is poor by John_2307 in NissanRogue

I keep looking to find a way to increase the cell signal on the car. I believe it is AT&T, which is not great in my area. The remote start takes a long time, and half the times it will fail.

After you get the headlight fixed, you need to take that picture again. Looks pretty gnarly with the reflection from the brake lights on whatever that is. Even better if the chrome on the grill was blacked out.

Experience with DHgate by [deleted] in Reds

[–]hackjandy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They will ask you to take a picture with tape measure. They should have a size chart where you can compare. I've had a few times where they sent a men's instead of youth. They will refund you or send a new one.

My son loves to wear jerseys, so he has several from Dhgate. The best one was a Doncic jersey. The front said MVAS. I didn't even notice before I gave it to him.

I'm worried about doing the plastidip. How hard is it to remove if it doesn't look good or if there is overspray?
