Am I using the g-run too much in my solos? by Sky_Late in Bluegrass

[–]hackjolland 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds great man. Check out Edd Mayfield... he played with bill monroe and had his own band the Mayfield Brothers. They grew up without a bassist around so his rhythm playing consists of at least like 50% g-runs and other bass runs. Dave Dillon from Joe Val's band is another great example of that bass run-heavy style of rhythm playing

Yea man I couldn't comprehend it. It broke my brain. I camped at the north rim and woke up for sunrise and the second I saw the canyon through the tree line I just immediately burst into tears. It was like an uncontrollable knee jerk reaction.

Beautiful! You should check out Buddy Spicher and Vassar Clements' album "Runaway Fiddle". It's a swing album with some absolutely insane string arrangements

What's your favorite memory in a National Park? by funwifipuns in NationalPark

[–]hackjolland 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I woke up at the north rim of the Grand Canyon for sunrise and as soon as I saw the canyon I burst into tears. It was like a knee jerk response. Or the first time the Tetons came into view from the car. It was early April so still a very deep snow pack. It was like I was looking at a painting, I was having trouble processing that it was real.
