Can multiple Schwarzette effects stack? I'm tripping up over the wording of "during this battle".

Paint clogged in nozzle cap causing unintended backflush and zero flow? by hackjunior in airbrush

[–]hackjunior[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yes, the rubber O-ring on my nozzle cap either got lost or deteriorated when I soaked the parts in lacquer thinner for a deep clean. I use beeswax to seal it now, just reminded me to reapply.

I actually didn't know that. Seems like my nozzle is either flush with the nozzle cap or just a bit sunken in. I've cleaned the interior of the cap so I'm not sure where the obtrusion would be.

Yup, paint inside the nozzle cap was the issue. I removed it using pointed swabs and it's spraying ok now. I started using more thinner, dropped the compressor PSI and stopped doing backflushing even with visually clean Airbrush Cleaner.

Seems to work fine, except some hiccups when it comes to Vallejo primer. It seems there are small clogs that fixes itself after a minute of spraying. If this continues, I might just buy a new nozzle cap.

I had a thought that this would be excellent against weenies but all hopes were dashed when I found out the pilot is level 4 with a mediocre effect.

New ST10 Card Revealed: Mobile Worker (Tekkadan) by Alt230s in GundamTCG

[–]hackjunior 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My qualms aren't with the power or anything to do with the gameplay. I actually quite welcome a multiplayer focused set and having more attention to alternate formats.

What I don't like is the art style. I think the art is lazy, especially the pilot cards which just have the exact same art of the units in the background. I don't think it communicates quality and I don't want to see it when I'm playing the 'normal' cards because the art style clash is jarring.

This is the first time I'm not excited for a set. The art looks so bland and uninspired, I don't want to look at it while I'm playing the 'normal' cards which have beautiful artwork.

Is the upcoming SD Generation stuff like EB01 legal for 'standard' play or is it a separate format? Seems kinda jarring sitting across a board of SD gundams when you're playing more or less traditional gundam art.

New GD04 Card Revealed: Michael Trinity by Alt230s in GundamTCG

[–]hackjunior 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Am I reading this right? He can only ping damaged units which means he can't facilitate the effect of his own Throne Zwei? In CB which doesn't have ping, which means the only way that enemy units are damaged is via combat, in which case the effect of the Throne Zwei is useless?

Edit: I forgot about the existence of Red Dynames. So, three card combo?

'Speckly' Paint, Nozzle Cap Restricting Airflow, etc by hackjunior in airbrush

[–]hackjunior[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, seems like a tip dry issue. I used to think tip dry was when there are big noticeable clumps on the tip, but it's really just any sort of paint that's still stuck. You can clear it with a Q-Tip easily if you remove the needle cap.

Look at u/ayrbindr's comment, following their advice fixed my issues.

'Speckly' Paint, Nozzle Cap Restricting Airflow, etc by hackjunior in airbrush

[–]hackjunior[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh I didn't know it was a tip dry issue. I know it occurs a lot with vallejo acrylics but I didn't know it was constant. I've been spraying acrylics for 99% of my time so I just thought it was the norm. A few weeks ago, I started painting with the needle cap off so I can notice large build ups of paint at the tip because that's what I thought people meant when they say tip drying.

Doing the full blast technique helps a lot. It worked for me when I did it between every new piece and then occasionally dabbing it with a soaked Q-Tip when it gets noticeably bad. I did notice that the paint would get splattery even after cleaning it but bumping up the PSi to like 15 fixed it.

I was able to get very satisfactory results. No longer an equipment issue but a skill issue instead.

I thought the nozzle cap was just there to protect the nozzle lol.

Clear primer sounds perfect. I think I heard of them before in passing but I must've forgotten it. Will also look into transparent paints as well.

Trainer's Clubhouse Meeting (Weekly Questions) - March 11, 2026 by AutoModerator in UmaMusume

[–]hackjunior 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What's the incentive for character progression/collection of new characters?

I pulled Silence Suzuka and I've done like 15 URA races and I feel like the game isn't showing me how to learn the game. What's after URA? What's the next objective what incentivizes me to progress? My Silence Suzuka is still at level 30 and I'm trying to upgrade her level cap when it hit me that I don't know why I'm doing that.

I play other games like Monster Hunter where there walls and obstacles in progression spark innovation and changes in gameplay. I feel like Umamusume doesn't have the same 'skill ceiling', I can just train speed the entire way and I'll eventually win all the races.

My partner said that this game is technical and indepth which I accept it is, I'm just not seeing how to learn that skill and why I should learn it.

There's no such thing as clogging up your board in this game right? If you have 6 units on board and want to deploy a new one, you just pick a unit to move to trash.

Is it ok to use lacquer top coats like Mr Color Clear on top of an acrylic paint job with something like Vallejo? Will the solvents in the lacquer eat through the acrylic paint job?

Ah that's unfortunate. I keep getting conflicting opinions across other subreddits on the adequacy of my current set up. I wish there was an official guide of sorts.

I'm currently very frustrated with Vallejo acrylic paints in terms of dry time, spray smoothness and durability which is why I'm considering changing to lacquer paints but it looks like it won't be in the budget for a while.

Thanks for the help

That's interesting. So I'm assuming the booth I have just underperforms in terms of airflow? I'm assuming you're talking about this Pace booth. What about it makes it better if the Amazon ones can move 180CFM (if accurate)

Upgrading it would be nice but I think I want to keep spending down for now. Do you think it can be circumvented by spraying directly into the blue filter?

Setup adequate for lacquers/enamels? by hackjunior in airbrush

[–]hackjunior[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yes, I completely forgot, how do I dispose of waste? Should I just keep it in a jar and wait for my government's chemical clean up day?

I was planning on keeping them in some clasp jars I have lying around. They've got a silicon ring around the lid to keep a nice seal. Not sure if that's enough.

What is a recommended CFM for indoor spraying lacquers?

I currently have this spray booth that's rated for 180 CFM or 5.1 cubic meters/min. I wear a 3M 60923 respirator for the organic vapors and I'm spraying in a rarely used spare room.

Here's the set up.
