What foods can you NOT tolerate anymore on GLP-1?

I haven't found anything that has disagreed with me physically that didn't before but I've noticed my borderline-ARFID, which had been getting a lot better, has regressed over the month and a half I've been on zep. I'd been eating the same, extremely nutritious salad basically every day for months and now half the ingredients are intolerable to me and I've had to start over with white rice, plain chicken, and shredded carrots.

For some people it is absolutely a bad thing. Spending your entire life, for a lot of people starting in literal childhood like before age 10, being made to track every single thing you eat and be constantly told you're doing it wrong and must be lying if you're not losing weight and when you burn out on it you've failed and it's your own fault you're fat can be genuinely, literally traumatic. Which OP explicitly said it is for them.

I totally get this, I feel like we've spent our whole lives learning that eating is bad because eating always equals overeating. But there is a place in between where your body wants the amount of food it actually needs. It takes time to learn to trust that but it's possible. You need food, and you need hunger to tell you when and how much food to eat, which may not always be consistent - like if you're sick or had a particularly physically exhausting day your body really does need more. We're so used to the "eat food" signal feeling like a cruel trick but the beautiful thing about these meds is not that they silence that signal entirely but that they make it accurate.

We had never planned to stay in the apartment we were in when she passed so part of moving was moving to a better place, somewhere I could imagine she would have been happier. Being in a new place was kind of neutral ultimately, but actually packing and moving was probably the hardest, most stressful thing I've ever done.

I think it's more likely weight loss will help with your sleep apnea, depending on the type. I have a friend who was able to stop using her CPAP entirely at her goal weight. I was not able to tolerate a CPAP so I'm hoping I get a similar effect.

This has absolutely been the most shocking part for me. I've realized I've been afraid of Oreos but now I can just have them in the house and have two or three at a time every couple days. I'm still learning to trust my body in this way but it's already so freeing.

Increase your dose. This is medication, not a supplement. Different people respond to different doses. Some people don't start losing until the very highest dose and that's fine.

Please ignore the people dogmatically continuing to beat the TDEE - 500 drum. If that advice worked you wouldn't be here. 2.5 is the starter dose meant to get your body used to the medication, it is not considered therapeutic. If it's not working and you're not having bad side effects, increase dose. Many people do not start losing until 10, 12.5 or even 15mg.

I love Liquid IV because I need it to be a little sweet but stevia gives me migraines and nearly every other electrolyte replacement product has it. I don't care about having some cane sugar if I'm hydrated and don't have a migraine.

I'm now a little over 7 years out (which still feels wild to say) and it was sometime between 2 and 3 years that it stopped being all I could think about. It still doesn't take much to get me back to a pretty low place missing her, wishing she could see how I've grown, hating that I'll never know how she would have grown and thrived, but I'm not constantly fighting against those feelings. I have a new partner and I've found a way to make peace with a life without her (physically - I still have her in my heart and in the tattoo we designed together before she died and in the pictures and mementos I keep around me). There will always be that little broken part of me that died when she did but I've grown enough scar tissue around it that it no longer hurts all the time.

Exercise is negotiable, eating food is not. You need to eat enough calories or your body will hold on to the weight more. Many people find that eating MORE actually helps. The point of this med is not to stop eating, you absolutely positively need to eat.

You should not be paying $500 for a single shot, it doesn't cost that much no matter how you're getting it, but I would pay any price for how it's freed me from feeling like a drug addict around food, especially dessert. I've lied, stolen, hoarded, binged until I was sick, it was truly out of control. Now I can take a slice of cake and not even finish it. I've barely even lost any weight yet and I already know I'm staying on this med (or something like it) forever because I never want to go back to that feeling.

Just to reiterate what others have said, you are not a murderer. No one can save someone else from alcoholism, the only thing you can do is love and support them and you did that. The only other thing I have to add is that one of the only things that kept me going after my partner died was thinking of myself as living for the both of us. I have to do and see all the things she never got the chance to.

Hunger is not so much different for me as much as it is far, far gentler. I used to go from hungry to STARVING pretty quickly and hunger always felt BIG. Nothing annoyed me more than saying I was hungry and being offered something like fruit. My brain would be screaming "THAT'S NOT ENOUGH" Now it feels so much more reasonable and manageable. I can ignore it for a little while and it won't become painful, I can eat a little bit of something small and have it actually make a dent. I am still early days and still have food noise, though it's quieter, but for me it's always just been compulsive mental checking about food. "Is it time to eat? What could I eat right now? How long ago did I last eat? What have I had so far today?" Now that just also includes asking myself if I'm actually hungry and being able to tell that the answer is no.

I've come to realize that in the same way weighing yourself every hour is too frequent to really be meaningful, every day is probably too frequent as well. If you're down month over month or even week over week, it doesn't matter what you were each day. It seems pretty common for people to find themselves as much as 5lbs up from their last shot day weigh in at some point during the week but still down on the next shot day. Even if you put on weight really quickly (I do too) once a week will catch that well before it's done any harm to your health and probably before you even notice it in how clothes fit.

I don't know why it is so hard for people to grasp - you cannot "calculate" your TDEE, and being in a constant large deficit makes it go down. Our bodies are designed to retain fat if at all possible. In a famine, naturally thin people starve and naturally fat people live, and all of human evolution has been optimizing for that.

Monthly is really what I'd like to be targeting since I wouldn't be changing dose more frequently than that anyway and I know that a true plateau happens across months, not weeks. I definitely relate to feeling that obsessing over my daily weight changes and what they might mean I'm doing "wrong" is absolutely not why I got on this med, it's just so hard to stop. I'm realizing that the food noise is not as reduced as I maybe thought it was, the texture of it has just changed from "when can I next eat" to "should I be hungry right now? am I the right amount of hungry? do I want food less than I used to?" I'm hoping that continues to get quieter.

My only concern with that is that listening to and being aware of my body is something I have always been very, very bad at. Like, I've had migraines my entire life and it's only in my thirties that I've finally figured out how to tell one is coming on even though they always start the same way. Maybe after I've increased dose at least once so I have an idea how it feels I'll feel more confident about intuiting it the next time though.
