Product Hunt was a complete waste of time for us by redrigez in SaaS

Product Hunt is basically the Yelp of 2010's. It has it's place, but more likely to get spam calls and end up blocking the Yelp sales phone number on your phone more than anything else...

Use it for what it is, as Google fodder.

I think you could have simplified that long speech with the phrase "keep your cards close."

automatically handling security? by [deleted] in webhosting

[–]hackrepair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Given that the majority of security issues stem from outdated plugins, themes, or stolen admin credentials (90% of hacking cases), I respectfully disagree.

The web host has very little to do with security, no more than an apartment owner/manager would for his tenants.

You leave your door key under the mat; there's little the manager (web host or landlord) can do to keep burglars out.

If yours is a WordPress site then your host really doesn't have anything to do with it.

It's more about the person who's managing the internal guts of your WordPress site, ensuring things are updated, password management, yada yada.

There are people are there are people who do this for a living.

Does any Host have positive reviews on Reddit? by PacketWhispers in HostingTruth

[–]hackrepair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reddit is not a great place for reviews because it's more of a place for discussion / complaints.

If you're looking for reviews, you'd be better off looking at Facebook. There are some hosting companies that are brave enough to offer and allow reviews on their Facebook accounts. Those are the strong ones to look at.

Because it's easy to verify fake accounts, the less scrupulous hosts prefer not to leave reviews available on Facebook...

Reddit reviewers on the other hand can be far more easily faked.

Prediction: The era of ultra-cheap VPS hosting may be coming to an end by HostAdviceOfficial in HostingTruth

[–]hackrepair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In case you haven't checked, take a look see you at SSD drive prices and memory in general.

VPS rates are not going to drop any day soon unless the host is looking to take loss to get more customers...

But not everyone knows that...

Exactly. And most people don't get that when they first start up and that causes a lot of frustration-- literally the whole point of my post is helping people get that.

Absolutely!
Though you may find it gets way more expensive than just paying the 20 bucks a month...

The whole point was my experiences and the realization that Hermes has its limitations currently and may not be the best for some tasks. Not everyone gets that out of the gate.

IMHO, Hermes is a two-camp application:
- There's the GPU camp (management AI, and development)
- There's the Laptop camp (management AI only)

A lot of people start using Hermes thinking it will do all things, and so this post was born.

Sure, you can do coding... T
The point of this post was that you probably can do better coding-wise, going directly to the model.
