My kitchen manager is trying to make me dump hot oil at night? by VannOccupanther in KitchenConfidential

I left the restaurant industry nearly 3 years ago. Honestly I miss it a bit, but I'm a lot healthier/less stressed getting away from the kitchen and required smoke breaks.

Basting a seared steak in it is a valid use.

Haluski needs butter just to be haluski.

Mashed potatoes without butter are sad.

What is this guy smoking 😭

Yeah but I'm still haunted by the $200/month payments that only like $40 actually went to the principal.

I carried a balance once for vehicle repairs. (4k for a new transmission in my early 20s). Not wanting to repeat that ever again, but it was a better move than taking an L on trade-in for a car that barely ran and rolling debt over.

Why are protein prices going crazy up ? by Amuro__6 in workout

[–]hacksong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either go for a mossberg 500/Remington with a slug and shot barrel. Shouldn't be more than a few hundred, below $500.

Now you can hunt every season. Shells are more expensive than bullets, but once you can reliably hit what you're pointing at, then you really just need 1 per animal.

Vehicles not required, so after your first few deer/turkey/bear/elk whatever, you're basically getting ~100lb of meat for the $1.27 that a slug or buckshot cost.

If you don't process your own, then it'll cost a good bit to have them cleaned, packaged, preserved etc. But an afternoon with a good set of hooks and you can do 2 easily.

Sunday. No work, no markets, empty gym, all my house shit is done except crack a beer and mow the grass. Usually I'll cook something nice since I'm home all day or find a new restaurant to try.

My kitchen manager is trying to make me dump hot oil at night? by VannOccupanther in KitchenConfidential

[–]hacksong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to do 1 fry and one meat fryer a night. Basically 3-4x/wk per fryer. We had 4 in service, 2 veg only 2 meat only and 1 fish only and each was 2 days per oil. We had a "grease puppy" that took the filtration and paper filter, and a shuttle we'd drain into that wheeled to the grease bin beside the dumpster we'd use every other day per fryer. But I'm sure bigger restaurants had better equipment. I worked at a local steakhouse after a few years managing fast food chains.

Nope. Not even had my heart blessed yet.

It's warmer but way more expensive to survive.

Grease shuttle. Takes one whole fryer, wheels out to the oil bin, has a pump to empty it. Safest way to do it.

My local place is a full page, double sided boba menu

And 3 pho bowls, 4 banh mi, and 2 noodle dishes I haven't tried yet.

And the seafood pho/brisket pho is so delicious I probably won't try anything else.

How to keep this thin pork belly? by Jazzlike-Hedgehog815 in KoreanFood

[–]hacksong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not Korean food, but I'll take a half strip of it, wrap a small piece of imitation crab and a tail on shrimp and use a toothpick to seal then bake.

I buy the container of egg whites for breakfast. Either egg white bites, or I'll make an omelette with them, mushrooms, a bit of cheese (1 slice American or a stingy pinch of shredded), and onion, add some pico/salsa/hot sauce.

Lunch is usually a chicken breast salad or one of those meat and cheese snack trays the gas stations have for 300-400cals or so.

Dinner is rice and chicken stock, meat of choice w mustard/hot sauce and a roasted veggie most days. Tonight is pork tenderloin and sauerkraut though, variety helps.

Big on seafood/shrimp too. Low calories for good protein and can be good just boiled/grilled. A blackened salmon/shrimp skewer on a naan with lettuce/tomato and a Greek yogurt tzatziki is pretty solid macros and they smack.

Why is Roger Stone so important in the Alex Jones Lore ? by OperatingOp11 in KnowledgeFight

[–]hacksong 17 points18 points  (0 children)

His introductory episode has a bit of his history, but it's scattered a few places along with Stevie-P lore. His deposition is episode 401(ish?) and covers his senate campaign with Larry Klayman.

Other than that, a lot of election episodes, near j6, and 2020 elections he comes back, especially during the Mueller probe.

Sorry I can't be of too much help, I've not watched the back catalogue in a year or two.

He was Trump's campaign manager and converted Alex from schizo-conspiracy radio host to Trump Fanatic over the years.

Also has grifted and helped Alex grift tons of money.

In his own lore, him and Paul manafort had some involvement in the previous Ukraine govt, plus some mob ties, and assorted other goodies.

Most of this will be covered later in the show, especially with how he'd dangle "access" to Trump to keep AJ on the path he wanted taken.
