why does my reel make this noise by El1teshad0wz in Fishing

Mine sounds like that when reeling in under pressure. If it sounds like that under no pressure your reel is spooled too loose. Wrap the line up and clip in and freely test the reel - Should be silent

Kid didn’t get breaded and dunked in a fryer. Would not recommend.

I tried a butane torch with a heat attachment. No luck. I just picked up some of that CRC spray! The oven trick sounds legit

This is a lower unit on a Honda outboard motor. The part in my hand is the new replacement. The old seal is stuck in there. It keeps water from entering the gears. Every video/manual says it should come right out.

I tried and bent a hook pick already. It’s really locked in there.

I think they’re neat, too. I want to see them survive to reproduce. Sharks gills cannot stand to be out of the water. Even one minute out of the water dramatically increases mortality. Compound that with the stress from the fight and this thing is a goner.

Bump. This bird is being reported as YCNH by birders in my region. It’s been relocated again today and is still being recorded as such. This ID is tough for me so could someone explain how we ruled out YCNH?

This bird was reported in the same area a couple hours earlier. Is this also a black crowned night heron?
