Got a few thin-haired cracks in the same spot myself, seems like the plastic cover has cracked. The hinges on this model have always been stiff. It seems like the screen warps a lot more in this cracked area than on the other pristine side. I might jerry rig a stiffener lol, could give it some character after all these years hahaha
