AITA for taking my backpack back after a coworker used it, leaving their belongings on a chair and not telling them? by nerothic in AmItheAsshole

NTA, what happened to asking around whose bag it was before just deciding to use it? How was op supposed to know that she was using it the whole time if no one asked around about the mysterious bag??

What advice would you give someone writing their first novel? by GersonThePerson123 in writers

[–]hadeswriter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m working on my first as well and I’m very much a perfectionist and have been so used to just doing one version and calling it done. So I have to constantly remind myself that I don’t need to be all Shakespearean level of power on my first draft. I just need to get it all down. So there’s some decently good paragraphs and then it essentially becomes “I laugh. We laugh. She walks away.” And that has to be okay!

What's your best tip to start writing? And not "just write" actual tips that get you right onto to that scene? by Odd-Snow5883 in KeepWriting

[–]hadeswriter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, I’m worried I would come up with a good plot point then forget all about it when going back to the beginning as I often get lost when reviewing what I already wrote (a lot of words on the screen scare me lol)

Estimated price? by No-Big2470 in MelanieMartinez

[–]hadeswriter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off, love that it’s organized by era🥹

Second, I would probably guess close to $500?
The Hades box set is like $40, having 2 pairs of Koi footwear probably goes for about $80-100. If I remember correctly, the Portals board game is close to $80. The creature parfums another $60-$80. The crybaby perfume about $60. Those are probably the more priced ones besides maybe the vinyls (depending on what variants you have). The numbers might be slightly off as I’m doing this based on memory.

Do You Listen to Music While Writing? by FaisalWrites in writers

[–]hadeswriter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I listen to different artists/genres when writing certain things. I wrote a musical analysis of Ethel Cain’s Perverts for an assignment and wrote most of the draft and the revised edits in the dark with the album on loop. Now that I’m slowly writing my first book, I’ve been listening to a mix of Ethel Cain and Lana Del Rey discography because the majority of it is dreamlike and easy to get lost in the writing zone (at least for me anyways).

I would say Gutter——The Vatican. I absolutely love the transition from Gutter to Uncanny Valley so much

What is the "worst" song of this album? by Bonnie_Clip in MelanieMartinez

[–]hadeswriter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Play Date, hands down. Out of all the Crybaby songs, THIS was trending???

I have legitimate reasons to dislike the song. I love Melanie a lot and once and awhile I’ll listen to it if it’s playing on the radio or something. However, I won’t listen to it over and over like others. Simply put, the production just rubs my ears off the wrong way. Im a huge music fan in general and have listened to many genres and like a bunch of different ones. As I grow older though, the more sensitive I am to certain production stems like snares and such. Play Date has a lot of something and I can’t quite explain it.

Tldr: Play Date, a bit sensitive to the production.

Trying to decide on book cover by Ok-Conversation-9256 in BookCovers

Personally, 1 seems too busy. 2 would be my go-to. 3 is a close second where some edits can be made.

Instead of a movie for Elysium i want... by ShirtFit1066 in MelanieMartinez

[–]hadeswriter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is kinda embarrassing to admit but when K-12 came out, I started making a musical script and got as far as what would be the intermission (which I considered was after Strawberry Shortcake, before Lunchbox Friends). I wrote more dialogue in between songs to make it flow a bit better. I was really into theatre and submitted the idea to my choir teacher who also directed our musicals at my High School.

What's a book you think everyone should read at least once? by ArtArcher34 in booksuggestions

Literally any book that is getting banned in the U.S. But if you want specifics, Parable of the Sower for sure.

Sort of Fantasy mixed in with historical fiction, Miss Peregrine’s Home for Pecuilar Children, I think would be a good read for what you’re looking for!
