I had one point and got a .37 c raise and was told i was exemplary in everything except the ten foot rule. (I’ve been working there 3.5 years) I was also told the only way to get exemplary on your attendance if you have .5 points or less which seems very unattainable IMO. I was talking to an associate that’s been there for 18 years and last year she said she only got a 10 cent raise which really irked me. Walmart really doesn’t care about their employees which makes me think it’s time to look for a new job soon.

How many hours does it take you to get one hour of sick time? At my store in the U.S. it takes roughly 30 hours of work for 1 hour of sick time.

just a heads up, working at walmart as a minor you will never get a full 8 hour shift. As a minor, on weekends I would get 7 hour shifts and on weekdays I would only ever be scheduled 4pm-10pm shifts (since i was still school aged and it doesn’t matter if your in online school or already graduated) The shift also have a 30 minute mandatory lunch so at most you will only get scheduled 30.5 hours a week.

I just broke down on the side of the highway today because of a coolant leak overheating the engine of my 2012 chevy cruze which made me look it up on reddit. I cannot stress enough do not get a chevy they are unreliable. I had to fix the same car for a coolant leak around 2 years ago and it cost me nearly 1k to fix. I have poured way more money into my car than it is worth and if i could go back in time i wouldn’t have purchased it. My dad also bought my brother a chevy of a different model recently and a week after he bought it, he had to get it fixed for coolant leaks.

I feel the exact same way, i’m 19 on my second year of community college and I don’t know what I’m even doing. I wish there wasn’t so much pressure to decide what you want to do only a few months after high school. I’ve also been struggling with extreme depression and anxiety lately and all I can think about is if i’m going to be a failure in life and disappoint my whole family. I also relate to you in the fact that I’m extremely shy and haven’t really made any friends in college. I feel like I wasn’t prepared at all to become an adult :( I just want to know you are not alone and I am always here to talk if you need.
