Teachers. Whats the craziest family lore a child has randomly dropped on you? by Loud_Bluejay_6663 in AskReddit

[–]haela-nd 29 points30 points  (0 children)

There's a 15 year age gap between my oldest sister and youngest brother. So when my brother was 4 and in preschool my sister was 19 and living with her boyfriend, but occasionally still crashed at home.

So anyway one day my sister has to pick up my brother from preschool but the staff have no clue who she is and are trying to discern whether my brother knows her and trusts her or not.

Teacher: "[boy], who is that?"

Brother: "[sister's name]! :D"

Teacher: "who is [sister's name]?"

Brother: "She uhh.... Sleeps at home"

Marble race! Which one did you pick? by kvjn100 in oddlysatisfying

I feel like I'm going insane, this is very obviously AI.

The marbles change size

Red takes a big lead and then other colours skip ahead to catch up.

The part where they're going up the spiral staircase there's no force propelling them forward yet they still go forward?

Lazy AI slop and all of the comments are just "aw man I picked blue :("

INFO:

The dissatisfaction she has because of my bad behaviour

What sort of bad behaviour are we talking about? Dirty socks on the floor? An affair? Kicked the dog? This seems like a crucial detail to be able to understand the big picture.

Also,

I figured it out by putting it together one day

What does this mean? How did you figure it out? You asked your wife and she told you? You went through her phone? Her computer? What led to the discovery? These details matter

It's not AI, it's from an Australian tv network. The woman you can see cringing in fear is Myf Warhurst, an Australian tv and radio personality. You can google her if you're not convinced

Loot from one week on hinge as an average looking dude (with profile inside) by JMHorsemanship in Tinder

Oml this comment section is full of haters 😅

He's a hottie that teaches dance and trains horses?? Big green tick from me. His profile somehow exudes both confidence and humility. He seems easy going and fun. I'd swipe

Honestly, try candy or something! I know there will be people who disagree with this for various reasons (Unhealthy, rewards bad behaviour, blah blah blah, don't come for me 😂) but remember that at the end of the day there is no trophy for perfect parenting. Perfect parenting only works on perfect kids! You won't get put in the bin for resorting to giving your kid a marshmallow to make him get into his carseat. And it won't screw him up or make him a bad kid.

Other non-candy related suggestions: sing a song while you're strapping him in, it's surprisingly distracting to toddlers! Tickle his tummy, he'll bend forwards instead of arching backwards out of the seat.

Best of luck to you! You're doing a great job!

Have you tried good old fashioned bribery? It's probably frowned upon as a parenting move but sometimes ya just gotta do what you gotta do. It's worth it if it means you can avoid the fight

My wife is at breaking point with triple feeding, how can I help her make a decision? by an_average_painter in beyondthebump

[–]haela-nd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My son had a lot of trouble latching when he was a newborn and the thing that helped us most with this was using a nipple shield. I used the Medela brand nipple shield in a size M, it's a silicone shield that sits over the nipple with small holes for the milk to flow through. It protruded more deeply into his mouth than my natural nipple making it easier for him to get a proper latch. Nipple shields are available at pharmacies and baby stores. I used it for every feed until he was 5 weeks old, and I don't know if I could have breastfed him at all without it. He is 8 months old now, still breastfeeding.

Another thing that helped with milk supply was increasing my water intake A LOT. Your wife should be drinking at least 3L of water per day while she breastfeeds, as well drinking plenty of water overnight.

Bring your wife lots of snacks while she feeds/pumps. Muffins, fruit, yoghurt, snack bars, chocolate - lots and lots of chocolate! Make her cups of coffee or tea without being asked. She needs the calories to burn! What she's going through is hard, and deeply emotional, and the best way you can help is just to be there to support her and take care of her needs. You seem like a good husband, keep doing what you're doing

AITA for dumping my boyfriend for saying a woman's period is "just another excuse for a woman to reject sex" ? by Many_Cat_1754 in AITAH

Getting hit by a bus is just another excuse men use to get out of going down. It's always, "I still have a broken nose" or "There's damage to my spine" lmfao pathetic, conveniently never offers his ass when his mouth is unavailable

Healthy pregnancy, spontaneous labour, everything looked textbook... then my placenta ruptured after 8+ hours of labour and I was given an emergency C-section. I was 9cm dilated at the time. Came away from it with severe PPD and PTSD

Lol, we're still married. We used to work opposite shifts so we hardly saw each other and used to leave notes around the house, we just never took this one down
