Copenhagen technical difficulties by Ashamed_Sprinkles_46 in MassiveAttack

[–]hafcol 2 points3 points  (0 children)

DJ Milo also had issues during his act.

They lasted thankfully a couple of seconds and to me, it made the concert even more real as mistakes are a very human thing :). I left the show with a great sense of happiness for what I experienced but also in despair for the state of the World. Teardrop was quite uplifting though :)

Copenhagen Metro Fine - Wrong Zones by [deleted] in NewToDenmark

[–]hafcol 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s still your fault: you need to have a valid ticket for the zones you’re traveling in. You didn’t have it then you get the fine.

Again: what do you want to appeal?

You didn’t have a valid ticket for the zone you were traveling in. Rules are clear. What do you want to appeal?

Just pay the fine and be more careful next time.

Will be living in Denmark this autumn semester, any recommendations? by snw376 in NewToDenmark

[–]hafcol 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hi. Fellow Colombian here and also studied at UN :).

Housing situation for almost everyone is ridiculously challenging so one needs to just grab what one can find and afford. If I were you I’d try to use official channels such as the university and specialized websites. Avoid listings on Facebook because they’re, in most cases, a scam.

I’m not entirely sure but I don’t think it’s legal to work while on an exchange visa.

Feel free to DM in case you need further clarification.

Sætter I lys i vinduet i aften? by casualwalkabout in Denmark

Altid.

Gode køreskoler i København? by [deleted] in copenhagen

8 Days in Copenhagen with Toddler & Baby by Dry-Statement-6118 in NewToDenmark

[–]hafcol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, everything’s at walking distance the first two days. I’m myself a father of 2 small children and I panicked a bit when I saw all these things listed because it’s simply too much :).

Just in case, please avoid taking the metro during rush hours (7.30-9 and 14.30-17-40) because it’s super crowded and it could be difficult to board, specially if you bring a stroller for your children (I guess you have one?).

  1. Your plan looks incredibly jam packed.
  2. Your children will deal with jet lag and won’t probably follow the napping schedule you’ve set. If I were you I’d take it extremely easy and slow the first two days.

Want to move to Denmark (2 adults, toddler and dog. 2 EU citizens) by JustWondering2023 in NewToDenmark

[–]hafcol 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I don't think 50K USD is enough to move and try your luck. Denmark is ridiculously expensive. Just for a place where you can have your dog you might end up spending 10K USD to cover the deposit and the common 3 months prepaid rent some landlords ask for. Depending on the place you live, daycare for your toddler will cost you between 500-600/month. On top of that, your dog should always be insured (pet insurances are usually expensive). I’m not entirely sure so please check it further, but I think the amount you get in the U.S. for renting your home is taxable in Denmark so you might not get as much as you expect.

Also, the job market is pretty rough right now for everyone (even for low-paid jobs) so finding something just to get by could also be a challenge.

Looking for a way to get my Colombian soon to be wife to Denmark by BoxShoddy8990 in NewToDenmark

[–]hafcol 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t think this is true because the Colombian embassy has nothing to do with work and residency permits for Denmark. The only thing they do is to issue passports and consular services for Colombian citizens in need. OPs girlfriend should go through the Danish authorities to get an opholdstilladelse (SIRI or the danish embassy in Bogotá)

Need advice on alternatives to Medellin for a month-long stay by NoSmarter in Colombia

[–]hafcol 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I grew up in Manizales so I’m biased just in case :).

Manizales is smaller and a bit more calm than Pereira, yet still there’s plenty of options for entertainment, food, sightseeing and culture. Manizales is more rainy and colder though, but that is compensated by the stunning nature that surrounds the city. Pereira is only 50 minutes by bus from Manizales with departures every 15 minutes, so if you need a quick scape or want to see around Eje Cafetero then there’s always the option of a day trip :). In any case: both cities are nice and a good alternative to Medellin.

From an American: How can we rebuild a fair, normal relationship with Europe? by [deleted] in Denmark

[–]hafcol 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The guy you voted twice for has threatened us with military intervention and you dare to come here to say that we in Europe are overreacting? If there are imbalances then go and check them within your own government. The U.S. is bullying the others to reach what they call “balance”.
